A method of manufacturing an aerosol generating pod includes providing aerosol generating material; positioning sheet material over opposite sides of the aerosol generating material; and punching the aerosol generating material and the sheet material from one of the opposite sides to form an aerosol generating pod including aerosol generating material covered by the sheet material.
