A piston, which has a piston rod, is guided with freedom of axial movement in a cylindrical pressure tube. At one end of the pressure tube, the piston rod passes through an opening in an end wall, which closes off the end of the pressure tube. The pressure tube is surrounded by a heat-shrink sleeve, which, at the exit end of the piston rod, extends more-or-less radially inward and has a pass-through opening through which the piston rod extends. The ring-shaped end surface at the piston rod exit end of the pressure tube is enclosed by the heat-shrink sleeve.

Piston-cylinder unit

Object-support column includes an end unit, a guide tube which has a nominal diameter, and end having an end diameter which is smaller than the nominal diameter, and a transition-length portion extending from the nominal diameter to the end diameter, the end being connected to the end unit. A pneumatic tube surrounds the guide tube and the end unit, the pneumatic tube having a conical section with a diameter reduction surrounding the end unit. Alternatively, a guide portion of the guide tube may be supported radially on the inner wall of the pneumatic tube.

Object-support column

A vertically adjustable column, in particular for chairs or tables, includes a pedestal tube having a coaxially arranged lengthwise adjusting element, e.g., a gas spring, and a rotational fixation profile engaging a counterpart profile extending parallel to the longitudinal centerline of the pedestal tube. The rotational fixation profile and the counterpart profile are operatively arranged between the pedestal tube and the lengthwise adjusting element, and one of the profile parts is arranged in series with the lengthwise adjusting element.

Rotationally secured column

Vehicle including a body component and an additional body part, particularly a hatch door, which is movably mounted on the body component. The hatch door can be mounted on a power-assisted pivoting axis by means of a pneumatic spring or strut hinged by connection elements to form a pneumatic spring assembly. The vehicle has a component, particularly a trunk compartment cover, which moves simultaneously with an hatch door by means of a connection. The connection is mounted between the component and the pneumatic spring assembly.

A piston rod-cylinder assembly, such as a gas spring, includes a cylinder in which a piston rod is axially movable and connecting members on the cylinder and the piston rod for attachment of the assembly in use. The cylinder and an axial portion of the piston rod are covered by a shrink-wrap sleeve for corrosion protection and/or coloration. A lubricant layer is provided between the cylinder and the shrink-wrap sleeve adjacent one or both ends of the cylinder.

Hinge eye for a piston-cylinder unit, or shock absorber, in particular for air springs, comprising a bracket with an opening, a bearing surface for a connection shank which is connected to a base body, and at least one retaining tab. The retaining tab is actively connected to the piston-cylinder unit and forms a locking connection with a groove of the connection shank. The retaining tab(s) and the part of the hinge eye which forms the opening with the bearing surface are realized in one piece.
