A device for winding and unwinding lines has at least two rotatable drums onto which at least one line can be wound and from which at least one line can be unwound respectively, and a transmission connecting the drums such that one line is wound onto one drum when the other line is unwound from the other drum. An apparatus equipped with such a device allows one apparatus part to move relative to another apparatus part while winding/unwinding of the lines takes place.

An apparatus for winding and unwinding cables has at least two rotatable drums. At least one cable can be wound onto or unwound from each of these drums. The drums are connected by a coupling linkage such that both the drums either wind or unwind the respective cables simultaneously. An arrangement cooperating with the coupling linkage effects winding of the unwound cables.
