Pulp production arrangement and method

A screw conveyor for transporting lignocellulose-containing material, including a housing containing a screw for transporting the lignocellulose-containing material from the inlet to the outlet of the housing, the screw including a screw core disposed along the screw axis and a screw thread surrounding the screw core, the screw thread including a screw depth defined by the distance between the periphery of the screw and the screw core, the inlet including at least one transverse plate dividing the inlet into at least two axial compartments for evenly distributing the lignocellulose-containing material at the inlet. A method for transporting lignocellulose-containing material by the screw conveyor, in which the axial length of the screw inlet being equal to or greater than the screw depth times the quotient between the axial speed of the screw and the incoming speed of the lignocellulose-containing material at the inlet.

Screw conveyor for lignocellulose-containing material

A screw pipe unit intended to cooperate with and at least partly enclose a screw in a plug screw feeder for cellulose chips/pulp is provided. The screw pipe unit comprises a plurality of openings for filtrate dewatered from the chips/pulp in the screw pipe when the plug screw feeder is in operation. The screw pipe is, on at least a portion of its inner surface, provided with bars inclined with respect to the longitudinal axis of the screw pipe. The angle of inclination of the bars decreases in the longitudinal direction, from a first portion of the screw pipe unit with maximum inclination to a second portion of the screw pipe unit with bars substantially parallel to the axis, the second portion being further away from the inlet end of the screw pipe unit than the first portion.

Plug screw feeder for feeding cellulose pulp/chips

Methods and apparatus controlling the alignment between refining surfaces of opposite refining discs are disclosed which are relatively rotatable and which are incorporated in a refiner for disintegrating and refining lignocellulose-containing material in a refining gap between the refining surfaces. The disclosed method includes positioning at least three sensors at least three measurement positions, measuring the vibrations at each of the measurement positions during refiner operation, and comparing each of the measured vibrations at each of the measurement positions with each other. The apparatus disclosed includes at least three sensors disposed in at least three predetermined measurement positions, each of the sensors comprising a vibration sensor disposed on a refining disc for measuring the vibrations at the measurement positions whereby measuring can take place during operation of the refiner and a comparator for comparing the measurements of the measurement positions to provide a comparison therebetween.

Method and a device for controlling the alignment between refining surfaces

A frame for a twin-wire press is disclosed including pairs of side members including upper and lower side members arranged on opposite sides of the press, between which upper and lower rolls are attached, a plurality of transverse beams arranged between the pairs of side members which themselves are sections of flat sheet metal and spacers for mutually releasably connecting the side members with the sheet metal being formed so that it permits a degree of curing in the vertical plane to facilitate access to the space between the upper and lower rolls. A method for exchanging wire in a twin-wire press of this type is also disclosed.
