Wire guide element for a distributor unit in telecommunication systems. The plug connector strips of the distributor unit are secured to the edges of a vertically aligned U-shaped carrier part. A hollow plastic member is used as a wire guide element for the lines proceeding between neighboring distributor units arranged at both sides. With the guide peg present at the under side, this hollow plastic member is plugged, on the one end, onto the upper edge of the leg of the carrier part and, on the other hand, is snapped onto the retainer plate joined in this region to the carrier part at the back side. At least one hook attached to the upper side parallel to the plate also serves for the ordered guidance of lines. At its front side, the hollow member has a slot specifically designed for the insertion of lines.

Wire guide element for a distributor unit in telecommunication systems

Distributor unit for attaching and connecting electrical lines in telecommunication systems. A rail (5) is secured in two different positions in a simple manner from a servicing side and is provided for the acceptance of accessory equipment (15). The two positions are in the upper end region of the carrier part (1) vertically aligned with its long side in that the rail (5) is hooked to or, respectively, plugged onto the upper edge of a plate (4) that is rigidly connected to the carrier part (1). The edge of the plate (4) provided for the plug fastening of the distributor unit extends beyond the upper edge of the carrier part (1) in a longitudinal direction. Different accessory equipment is easily attached to the front side of the rail independently of the wiring of the distributor. The parts of the distributor normally covered by the planar extent of the rail toward the servicing side are accessible at any time in the respectively other position of this rail.

Contact component. Attached to a base part (5), the contact component (1) has a clamping adapter (3) and a fork spring contact (6) with which it can be plugged onto pin-shaped mating contacts (14, 15, 16). With respect to an axis of symmetry, proceeding in plug-in direction, of the fork spring contact to be contacted with the mating contact, an offset (v1 or v2) is provided for a clamping point (4) of the clamping adapter (3) in a first direction proceeding perpendicularly to the axis of symmetry and in a second direction proceeding perpendicularly to the first direction and to the axis of symmetry (2). Each contact component (1) is firmly inserted in various positions in a base housing part. This occurs in reception chambers which are provided in the shape of a grid at a certain dividing distance. The insertion in various positions of the contact components (1) provided with the offset enables the generation of contact configurations for the contact pins of electrical modular units or components which deviate from the arrangement of the reception chambers. For example, component contact pins arranged in one line can be converted to a mating contact arrangement aligned in a triangular shape. Generally, a conversion from a line to a grid is possible, or respectively, from a one grid to another grid with a different spacing. This feature also encompasses the expanding of two pin rows having a preset distance to two pin rows having a large distance from one another and vice versa.

Contact component

A housing for a protective plug including a surge arrester is composed of a pedestal-like lower portion and of an upper portion which is joined of one piece thereto via film hinges. The upper portion is preferably composed of two halves that, for closing the protective plug housing are pivoted towards one another and mechanically joined to one another by appropriate interlock elements. The lower portion contains receptacle chambers for contacts that, proceeding from a base, comprise a double spring contact downwardly in the plug-in direction and a clamp terminal in the upward direction. Three identical contacts are present that are each respectively connected via their clamp terminals to terminal pins of the surge arrester. A pin-shaped projection extends from the upper side of a distributor strip to serve as cooperating contacts for the double spring contacts. Each such contact also has a pin-shaped projection extending from the bottom side for connection to switching equipment. Also, such pin-shaped contacts may be insulation-pierce contacts. The contact element comprises an offset between the center line of the double spring contact and the actual terminal of the terminal legs of the surge arrester that are in alignment. Given receptacle chambers that are arranged offset relative to one another, the surge arrester can be introduced thereinto on a straight line without a deformation of its terminal legs adapted thereto when the individaul contact elements are introduced into the receptacle chambers in a defined, mutually turned position.

A module frame receives insertable electrical printed circuit boards equipped with components that are connected to one another, in their inserted condition with plug connectors by way of a motherboard. A prescribed plurality of guides are arranged under one another in the module frame at defined intervals so that the printed circuit boards, having a height less than the height of the module frame, are insertable into the module frame.

The strain-relief element preferably has two cylindrical carriers interconnected by a band-like middle piece and the holding fixture has a cavity with two holding portions for receiving the cylindrical carrier with the distance between the holding portions being less than the distance between the carriers when the strain-relief element is in an unflexed state so that the band-like middle piece and waveguide portion between the carrier are held in a bent configuration when the strain-relief element is inserted in the fixture.

A switch for coupling and uncoupling a first waveguide from at least a second waveguide characterized by the switch having a member holding the first waveguide in a fixed position in a switch housing and a movable support part for supporting the second waveguide and being movable from a position with the waveguides in a coupling relationship to a position with the waveguides being uncoupled, the support part being connected to the switch housing by at least one flexible web having a bending axis extending parallel to the axis of the second waveguide. Preferably, each of the flexible webs is connected to a second flexible web extending at right angles thereto so that the movable support part can be moved relatiive to the first waveguide in two planes extending at right angles to each other.

A coupling device for releasably coupling a first optical waveguide to a second optical waveguide with an end-to-end alignment characterized by a first coupling part having a seating surface with a longitudinally extending channel, at least one second coupling part having a support part with an end of a first waveguide being secured to a longitudinally extending undersized groove provided on the support part. The second coupling part further comprises flexible webs for mounting the support part in the second coupling part for movement transverse to the axis of the first waveguide and to press the end of the first waveguide into the channel when the second and first coupling parts are assembled together so that the first waveguide is received in the channel aligned with the end of the second waveguide to couple the waveguides together.
