A transport container made from lightweight construction boards, having a base and upright walls extending around the base. In order to manufacture the transport container in a more cost-effective, more rugged and more easily reparable manner, the walls, at their lower end, have a flap which extends along the edge of the walls and is angled in the direction of the base and which is connected to the base. Wherein an upwardly curved channel is between the angled flap and the edge, and the walls, at their upper end, have an upwardly curving beading which has a shape which corresponds to the channel at the lower end of the walls. In order to obtain improved stability, the transport container, which is constructed in a modular manner, may be provided with a concealed frame of metal tubes.

An engine-independent vehicle heating system has a connection piece that communicates with a combustion chamber and is linked with a fuel supply. The heater system has a glowing body that is fastened in the connection piece and evaporates and ignites the fuel at least during a starting phase of the heater system. A sieve element that is disposed in the connection piece encloses the glowing body and transports the fuel supplied to the connection piece in the direction of the combustion chamber. The sieve element in the interior of the connection piece is at least partially spaced from an inner wall of the connection piece facing the sieve element.

A method for providing uniform thermal output from a glow plug for use in an auxiliary heater of a motor vehicle having either a 12 volt or 24 volt power supply without the use of multiplier resistors utilizes a glow plug having two heating rods having the same electrical resistance and three electrical terminals. One end of the first and second rods are permanently electrically connected respectively to the first and third terminals and the other end of the first and second rods are permanently electrically connected to the second terminal. The vehicle voltage is determined and if the 12 volt supply is present the first and second terminals are connected to the power supply and the first and third terminals are electrically connected to each other to place the heating rods in parallel. If a 24 volt supply is present, the first and third terminals are connected to the power supply with the second terminal left in connected thereby placing the heating rods in series.

A side channel blower, preferably for burners for cleaning soot particle filters mounted in exhaust gas lines of vehicles by burning off, is shown, in which a chamber housing (6) with a chamber (5) is arranged on the air discharge side, wherein air flows into said chamber from the side channel blower (1) and said chamber permits adjustable return of air from said chamber into the annular channel (8) via a bypass (12, 13) and return of additional air, also into said annular channel (2), via an air transfer channel (9) that can be closed with a valve (16), and the air delivered can be fed from said chamber to the filters for cleaning by burning off via two air discharge openings (8a, 8b), which can be closed such that one discharge opening is open and the other discharge opening is closed.
