An anchor-in-anchor fixation system is provided for securing underlying structure, such as bone. The fixation system includes a linkage that defines first and second bores, a first bone anchor having a shaft for fixation to underlying bone, and a head that is configured to attach to the linkage in the first bore, and a second bone anchor having a shaft for fixation to underlying bone and a head that is configured to attach to the linkage in the second bore.

Anchor-in-anchor system

A device for treating bone fractures and/or for fixing surgical implants, surgical threads or tissues in or on the bone comprising a closing element and a rivet. The rivet includes a shaft extending from a rear end to a front end coaxial to a central axis and having a through-hole extending coaxially therethrough. The shaft of the closing element is coaxially displaceable in the through-hole and the head of the closing element can be axially brought to rest on the front shaft end. The rivet also comprises at least two grooves on the outside, these grooves extending from the front shaft in the direction of the rear end, parallel to the central axis.

Device for fixing surgical implants

The invention is directed to a device for the coupling of surgical instruments and/or implants such as a drive shaft and a reamer head. The device comprises a longitudinal male connector, and a hollow coupling shank having a first bore extending therethrough for receiving the male connector. The lateral portion of the male connector includes a plurality of flat surfaces, and the first bore shank includes a plurality of wall surfaces corresponding to the flat surfaces, so that the male connector can be inserted into the first bore to form a connection which is resistant to twisting about the longitudinal axis. The male connector defines a second bore extending coaxially therethrough and includes at least one radial slot, and defining a radially elastic, compressible holding element extending from the distal end. The male connector includes at least one radially protruding latch finger; and the first bore includes at least one latch finger recess to engage the latch finger so that the male connector can be axially fixed with respect to the shank. The latch finger and recess comprise disengagement means which permit disengagement by applying a disengagement tensile force on the male connector in the proximal direction.

Coupling device for instrument components

A device for the coaxial connection of a surgical rotating tool to a shaft and the method of forming such a device. The device comprises a shaft defining a central axis and having a front end, a hollow body having a first end for engaging the front end of the shaft and a second end for engaging the tool. The hollow body further includes a wall defining a cavity coaxial to the central axis, the wall has at least one deformed impression thereby defining at least one projection in communication with the cavity. The at least one projection is engaged with the shaft to produce a rotatively and axially fixed connection between the shaft and the hollow body.
