The present invention relates to new cross-linking agents and thermosetting paints, which lead to improved properties such as scratch resistance of cured thermosetting paints or exhibit good solubility.

Cross-linking agents and thermosetting paints

A nonaqueous, heat-cured, two-component coating has a combination of good scratch resistance and resistance to etching by acid rain and comprises a solvent-containing polyol component and a cross-linking component. The cross-linking component comprises at least one aliphatic and/or cycloaliphatic polyisocyanate having 2 to 6 NCO functional groups per molecule in which 0.1 to 95 mol % of the isocyanate groups of the polyisocyanate are reacted with an N-alkyl-3-aminopropyltrialkoxysilane and/or an N-aryl-3-aminopropyltrialkoxysilane. The weight ratio of the polyol to the cross-linking component in the coating is 6:1 to 1:2.

A process for producing surface-sealed hollow glass containers, wherein as part of the production process the hollow glass containers are coated with a water-based cold end coating composition in the region of the exit from the annealing lehr, which is arranged following a machine for producing hollow glass containers, where the cold end coating composition comprises the following components: I. a water-based organopolysiloxane-containing composition prepared from alkoxysilanes which carry a functional group and alkoxysilanes which are selected from trialkoxysilanes, dialkoxysilanes and tetraalkoxysilanes, and II. a silicon-free component selected from a wax, a partial fatty acid ester, a fatty acid and/or a surfactant. The hollow glass containers produced in this way feature an enhanced long-term service strength.
