A composition for three-dimension (3D) printing, a method for 3D printing, and a resulting article having porous structure are provided. Such a composition includes from 50% to 100% by weight of a base polymer comprising polyolefin (such as ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene), from 0% to 50% by weight of a glue polymer (such as HDPE or PP), and optionally additive. A composition can be applied in a layer, and the base polymer and the glue polymer each has a predetermined size or size distribution. The composition is sintered in a selected area to form a layer of a solid article, which has a predetermined pore size or pore size distribution. The predetermined particle size or size distribution for each of the base polymer and the glue polymer is determined through computer simulation based on the predetermined pore size or pore size distribution in the layer of the solid article.

Method of 3D printing, and resulting article having porous structure

A composition for three-dimension (3D) printing, a method for 3D printing, and a resulting article having porous structure are provided. Such a composition includes from 50% to 100% o by weight of a base polymer comprising polyolefin (such as ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene), from 0% to 50% by weight of a glue polymer (such as HDPE or PP), and optionally additive. A composition can be applied in a layer, and the base polymer and the glue polymer each has a predetermined size or size distribution. The composition is sintered in a selected area to form a layer of a solid article, which has a predetermined pore size or pore size distribution. The predetermined particle size or size distribution for each of the base polymer and the glue polymer is determined through computer simulation based on the predetermined pore size or pore size distribution in the layer of the solid article.

A polymer sheet includes a core layer containing a propylene impact copolymer (ICP), and a first additional layer comprising a first polymer composition. The propylene impact copolymer (ICP) in the core layer includes a matrix and a dispersed phase. The matrix comprises a polypropylene homopolymer or a propylene/alpha-olefin random copolymer which includes greater than 50 wt. % of units derived from propylene monomer. The dispersed phase includes a copolymer of ethylene and a C-C&#x3b1;-olefin. The ICP has a first melting point being greater than 100&#xb0; C. (e.g., in the range of from 100&#xb0; C. to 130&#xb0; C.) and a second melting point. The polymer sheet can also include a second additional layer containing a second polymer composition.

Multilayered article comprising polypropylene impact copolymers, and method of making same

The present invention provides an in-reactor solution that avoids costly blending and the use of metallocene elastomers. The inventive Ziegler-Natta polypropylene composition also includes additional components that may improve properties relative to a metallocene catalyzed elastomers. The invention is a clear impact polypropylene composition that is made in-reactor with Ziegler-Natta catalyst, and is suitable for a wide range of processes. Unlike other clear impact copolymers, it does not rely on high-shear processes or compounding with elastomers. The invention uses conventional polypropylene reactor technology to produce these compositions.

Polypropylene impact copolymers with low haze

The present invention relates to polymer compositions comprising a propylene impact copolymer and a processing aid, as well as corrugated boards made from such compositions. The impact copolymer has a melt flow range of from 1.5 to 3.5 g/10 min and a dispersed phase content of from 5 to 30% by weight. The dispersed phase of the impact copolymer has an ethylene content of from 30- to 70% by weight of the dispersed phase. The matrix phase of the impact copolymer is a propylene homopolymer or a random copolymer comprising units derived from propylene and a second copolymer selected from either ethylene or 1-butene wherein the units derived from the second copolymer comprise from 0 to 5% by weight of the dispersed phase.

Impact copolymer compositions for use in corrugated board

Propylene impact copolymers (ICPs) are provided which comprise: (a) a matrix phase which comprises from 60 to 95 weight % of a polypropylene polymer containing from 0 to 6 mole % of units derived from one or more alpha-olefins other than propylene, and (b) a dispersed phase which comprises from 5 to 40 weight % of a copolymer derived from a first comonomer which can be either propylene or ethylene together with a second alpha-olefin comonomer. The ICP is further characterized by having a beta/alpha ratio less than or equal to 1.1. The ICPs of the present invention are particularly well suited for applications requiring clear, tough polymers such as thin walled injection molded articles for frozen food packaging applications.

Propylene impact copolymers having good optical properties

The present disclosure provides a molded article composed of a polymeric composition and processes for producing the same. The polymeric composition includes from about 60 wt % to about 99 wt % of a matrix of a propylene-based polymer. The propylene-based polymer has a refractive index (n1). The polymeric composition also includes from about 40 wt % to about 1 wt % of elongated elastomer particles dispersed in the propylene-based polymer. The elongated elastomer particles have a refractive index (n2). The propylene-based polymer and the elongated elastomer particles exhibit a refractive index mismatch whereby |n1&#x2212;n2|&#x3e;0.002. The molded article has a haze value less than about 20% and optionally a viscosity ratio (VR) greater than 0.28.
