An actuator device () for generating a longitudinal positioning movement to engage a shift element includes an actuator housing () and an electric motor (). The electric motor () has a stator () and a rotor (), the stator () being stationarily fixed at the housing (), and the rotor () being rotatable relative to the stator () and rotationally fixed to a rotor carrier () supported relative to the housing () via a fixed bearing (). The actuator device () further includes a threaded drive () having a nut () and a threaded spindle (), with the nut () being rotationally driveable and axially fixed, and the threaded spindle () being axially displaceable along the threaded nut () and secured against rotation. The threaded nut () is rotationally fixed to the rotor carrier () and is at least partially radially within the fixed bearing ().

A method for determining a resistance value of a plural number of actuating devices is provided. The method features a step of the application of a test current pulse at each of the plural number of actuating devices. Moreover, the method features the step of the evaluation of a total current of output currents of the plural number of actuating devices engaging on the test current pulses at a measuring resistor, in order to determine the resistance value of the plural number of actuating devices.

A method for application of the operating behavior of a device for actuating in particular a transmission. For an automatic transmission ( ), a safety system is proposed in which a virtual reduction ratio is calculated when a driver moves the selector lever from a drive position to neutral and then from neutral back to a drive position. The virtual reduction ratio is then compared with the reduction ratio resulting from a shift characteristic field. In case of divergence, the virtual reduction ratio is assigned to a characteristic field having a linearly constant reduction ratio surrounded by a reduction ratio range.
