A method of installing rotor blades on an offshore wind turbine includes arranging a tower of the wind turbine at an offshore installation site. Then a first end of a tensioner is fastened to at least one of the tower, the nacelle, and the hub at a distance above sea level. A second end of the tensioner is fastened to a holding device floating in the sea at a distance from the tower. Then a pulling force is applied to the tensioner from the holding device at least part of the time while the rotor blades are being mounted to the hub, so that oscillations of the tower due to external forces are dampened during installation of the rotor blades.

Method of installing rotor blades on an offshore wind turbine

There is presented a tower element, such as a tower element for a tower for a wind turbine generator, said tower element comprising a hollow, tubular element, a flange on an inside surface of the hollow, tubular shell, a unit comprising a platform and a fixation element, such as a plurality of fixation elements, attached to the platform, wherein the unit is arranged with respect to the flange, so that the flange prevents movement of the platform in both directions along an axis being parallel with an axis of the tubular element, and movement of the platform is allowed in at least one direction along an axis being orthogonal to the axis of the tubular element. There is furthermore presented a tower, a wind turbine generator and a method for providing a tower element.

Tower element with platform and fixation element

The present invention relates to a tower damper adapted to be mounted in a wind turbine tower, the tower damper comprising a pendulum structure adapted to be suspended in the wind turbine tower; a plurality of springs arranged to dampen movements of the pendulum structure; a suspension arrangement for suspending the pendulum structure; and a chamber holding a damping liquid into which damping liquid the pendulum structure is at least partly immersed. The present invention further relates to a wind turbine comprising a tower damper.

The present invention further relates an associated method and a sea going vessel for transporting a plurality of vertically oriented tower structures.

Preassembly system and method for optimal positioning of tower structures

The present invention relates to a wind turbine tower comprising a tower vibration damper () with a tuned mass damper and one or more impact damping units (). The tuned mass damper comprises a pendulum structure (), a chamber connecting a friction media () to the pendulum structure () is at least partly immersed, and a suspension arrangement (-) suspending the pendulum structure () inside the wind turbine tower such that the pendulum structure () is allowed to displace from a neutral position towards the outer boundary () of the chamber. The impact damping units () are positioned between the pendulum structure () and the outer boundary (), such that the outer boundary () of the chamber and the pendulum structure () may collide via the impact damping units ().
