A hearing instrument includes: a radio for reception of a broadcasted message; an authenticator configured for authentication of a transmitter of the broadcasted message; and a receiver configured for converting the broadcasted message into an acoustic signal for transmission towards an eardrum of a user of the hearing instrument upon successful authentication of the transmitter of the broadcasted message.

Hearing instrument with an authentication protocol

An apparatus for a hearing device includes a first voltage regulator with an output terminal; a first voltage reference; a second voltage regulator with an output terminal; a switching element; and a decoupling element; wherein the switching element and the decoupling element are operatively between the first voltage reference and the first voltage regulator; wherein the output terminal of the first voltage regulator shares a same electrical node as the output terminal of the second voltage regulator; and wherein the first voltage regulator is configured to provide a first output voltage in response to applied battery power, the second voltage regulator is configured to provide a second output voltage if a certain condition is fulfilled, and the switching element is configured to disconnect the first voltage reference from the decoupling element if the condition is fulfilled.

A method for operating an audio system for transmitting wireless audio streams to a hearing system comprising a hearing device, the audio system comprising a communication unit and a radio system comprising a transmitter unit, the method includes: receiving request data comprising hearing device identification data and a request indicative of an audio track; determining radio system configuration data based on at least a part of the request data; and transmitting an audio stream by the transmitter unit according to the determined radio system configuration data, wherein the audio stream comprises audio stream data and audio identification data for allowing the hearing system to receive the audio stream representative of the requested audio track.

Audio system for audio streaming and associated method

A method for operating an audio system for transmitting wireless audio streams to a hearing system, the wireless audio streams comprising a first audio stream and a second audio stream, the audio system comprising a communication unit and a radio system comprising stationary transmitter units for transmitting at least the first audio stream with first audio identification data indicative of the first audio stream and the second audio stream with second audio identification data indicative of the second audio stream, the stationary transmitter units including a first transmitter unit and a second transmitter unit, the method includes: receiving a request indicative of an audio track; determining configuration data based on the request indicative of the audio track; and transmitting the configuration data to the hearing system for allowing the hearing system to receive one of the first and second audio streams representative of the audio track indicated in the request.

A hearing instrument includes: a first microphone; and a control and processing circuit comprising: a first audio input channel configured to receive a first microphone signal, a second audio input channel configured for receipt of an audio signal, a signal processor for receipt and processing of the first microphone signal and the audio signal according to a hearing loss of a user, a power supply configured to provide a first microphone supply voltage for the first microphone, a first controllable switch comprising a first switch control terminal, the first controllable switch configured to selectively connect the first microphone supply voltage to, and disconnect the first microphone supply voltage from, the first microphone in accordance with a first switch control signal, and a first output port configured to provide the first switch control signal to the first switch control terminal.

Hearing instrument with interruptable microphone power supply

A hearing device includes: a microphone for converting audio into an audio signal; a preprocessing unit for analog processing of the audio signal and having an input and an output, wherein the input is connected to an output of the microphone; an A/D converter for converting the processed analog audio signal into a digital audio signal, the A/D converter having an input and an output, wherein the input of the A/D converter is connected to the output of the preprocessing unit; and a processing unit for digital processing of an output from the A/D converter, wherein the processing unit is connected to the preprocessing unit, and is configured to apply a first transfer function to the audio signal in a first mode of operation, or a second transfer function with a cutoff frequency to the audio signal in a second mode of operation, depending on a control signal.
