A business object model, which reflects data that is used during a given business transaction, is utilized to generate interfaces. This business object model facilitates commercial transactions by providing consistent interfaces that are suitable for use across industries, across businesses, and across different departments within a business during a business transaction. In some operations, software creates, updates, or otherwise processes information related to employee time event and human capital management view of payroll process business objects.

Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer program products, for implementing a software architecture design for a software application implementing time recording. The application is structured as multiple process components interacting with each other through service interfaces, and multiple service operations, each being implemented for a respective process component. The process components include a Project Processing process component that supports the management of projects, a Time and Labor Management process component that supports the management of employees timekeeping and work planning, an Accounting process component that records relevant business transactions, a payroll processing process component that supports the execution and monitoring of payroll processes, and a Goods and Service Acknowledgement process component that receives a confirmation from an employee of goods received or services rendered.

Architectural design for time recording application software

A method includes receiving compensation information of a particular employee of a first company from a database, receiving compensation information associated with a second company from a different database, and presenting in a graphical user interface (GUI) a graphical representation comparing the compensation information of the particular employee of the first company and the compensation information associated with the second company.

Monitoring employment compensation

Some embodiments provide a system including a database, two or more data access objects, and a proxy object. In some such embodiments, each data access object has exclusive access privileges to a subset of data within the database. Further each object includes one or more of a read method that provides access to data and a write method that causes data to be stored. In such embodiments, the proxy object accesses data via data access object methods and includes a valuate method, the execution of which causes data to be passed from a data access object to the proxy object.
