An acrylic glass plate for use as an opaque noise protection element in noise protection walls, the plate measuring a minimum of 2&#xd7;2 m and having a minimum thickness of 8 mm wherein threads, strips, grids or networks consisting of a material which is incompatible with the acrylic glass are integrated into the acrylic glass for binding splinters in the event of a fracture of the plate, and the plate comprises between 40 and 80 wt. % of filling materials, in relation to its total weight (calculated without integrated threads, strips, grids or networks); and a method for producing such plates.

Soundproofing, restraining systems including at least one transparent acrylic glass panel that contains at least one embedded metal cable. A layer of plastic is provided, at least partially, between the surface of the metal cable and the transparent acrylic glass matrix. A support holds at least two adjacent transparent noise barrier elements and includes a point-fastening of the transparent noise barrier element. Sanitary applicances with a casing, such as bath tubs, shower trays or washbasins, are glass fiber- and asbestos-free, and are further characterized in that the reinforcing material is 1.5 to 10 mm thick and consists of one or two layers. The one layer or the first layer of a multilayered reinforcement is obtained by hardening a first polylmerizable, cole-hardenable, reactive (meth)acrylate system sprayed on the back of the acrylic glass moulding. The (meth)acrylate system contains as filler hollow microparticles, preferably made of plastics, filled with an inert gas. The composition of the (meth)acrylate system is defined by the invention. The disclosed sanitary appliances meet all requirements of the DIN EN 19 norm and can be recycled.

Backing-lined sanitary article and process for the production thereof

A plate utilizable in a noise protection wall of fragile acrylic glass comprising a plurality of side by side synthetic monofilament plastic threads for embedded in and running along the plate for splinter binding on breakage of the glass wherein, at least one thread has a maximum deviation of 1 mm or more from a theoretical straight line connecting the ends of said thread.

Noise-abatement panels of acrylic glass are secured against fragmentation by plastic threads, plastic bands or a plastic net embedded in them approximately in the middle. If the acrylic glass breaks, the threads, bands or nets hold the fragments together.
