Methods for producing a multilayer ceramic component with alternating ceramic layers and internal electrode layers include producing the ceramic layers using a ceramic mass. The methods also include producing the internal electrode layers using a metal paste that contains a portion of a chemically active additive; wherein the chemically active additive reacts chemically with at least one environmental component other than a metal portion of the metal paste.

Ceramic multi-layer component and method for the production thereof

A multilayer ceramic component includes a stack containing ceramic layers and electrode layers interspersed among the ceramic layers. The electrode layers contain copper and define first and second internal electrodes. First and second external contacts are on different sides of the stack. The first and second external contacts contain copper and are substantially perpendicular to the ceramic layers and electrode layers. The first internal electrode is connected to the first external contact and the second internal electrode is connected to the second external contact. The first and second internal electrodes overlap each other at a plane intersecting the stack. In areas adjacent to boundaries between the first and second external contacts and the ceramic layers, the first and second external contacts are not oxidized and material making-up the ceramic layers is not diminished. A bonding strength of the external contacts to the stack exceeds 50 N.

Method for producing a multilayer ceramic component

A retaining device for use when sintering electrical components made of ceramic and metal electrodes inside the ceramic. The retaining device includes a structure to hold the electrical components. The structure has a surface that contains a sintering aid. The sintering aid includes a material that is able to bind to a gas contained in the structure and to release the gas.

Ceramic multilayer component, method for the production thereof, and retaining device

A multilayer component includes a ceramic base body and at least one internal electrode in the ceramic base body. The at least one internal electrode includes holes, and is made of a material having a liquidus temperature that differs from a sintering temperature of the ceramic base body. The ceramic base body is sinterable such that formation of holes in the at least one internal electrode occurs during sintering.

An electrical component includes a base. The base is made of a sintered ceramic, and at least one electrode that is inside the sintered ceramic. The at least one electrode has a surface that contains metal. The surface is adjacent to the sintered ceramic. In the component, a redox potential of the metal is less than or equal to a redox potential of copper.

Ceramic multilayer component, method for the production thereof and retaining device

The invention relates to a piezoelectric ceramic material having the general composition ABOwith at least a proportion of the PZT ceramic having a composition of the invention with Cu cations. The proportion of Zr and Ti cations is selected based upon the content of Cu cations, such that the ceramic material is tailored to the morphotropic phase boundary. The invention further discloses a method for producing a ceramic material of this type.

Piezoelectric ceramic material multi-layered component and method for the production of a ceramic material

A ceramic mass has a phase-heterogeneous ceramic of m weight percent of a phase composed of BaNdTiOwith negative temperature coefficient of the dielectric constant and 100-m weight percent of a phase composed of NdTiOwith positive temperature coefficient of the dielectric constant, with m having a value of 50&#x3c;m&#x3c;70, and an additive of glass frit that contains ZnO, BOand SiOand whose weight amounts to between 3 and 10 weight percent of the ceramic. The ceramic mass is used to construct a multi-layer capacitor with copper electrodes.
