A constant velocity fixed joint. The center line (M) of the outer ball tracks () towards a first side (S) departs, radially inwardly, a reference radius centered in the point of intersection between a perpendicular line on tangents (T) at the center line (M), and the longitudinal axis (L). The center line (M) of the inner ball tracks () towards a second side (S) departs, radially inwardly, a reference radius centered in the point of intersection of a perpendicular line on the tangent at the center line (M), and the longitudinal axis (L). In the outer joint part, from the joint center plane (EM) to the second side (S), the center line (M) moves beyond the reference radius radially outwardly. In the inner joint part (), from the joint center plane (EM) to the first side (S), the center line (M) moves beyond the reference radius, radially outwardly.

Constant velocity joint with small radial movements of the balls

A constant velocity counter track joint having an outer joint part with outer ball tracks having first tracks opening toward the aperture end and second tracks opening toward the attaching end. The center line of the second tracks, departs, radially inwardly, a first reference radius centered in the point of intersection of a perpendicular line on the tangent at the center line of the ball track and the longitudinal axis. In the inner joint part, the center line of the ball tracks departs, radially inwardly, a second reference radius centered in the point of intersection of a perpendicular line on the tangent at the center line of the ball track and the longitudinal axis. In the outer joint part, the center line of the ball tracks towards the aperture end, moves radially outwardly beyond said first reference radius. In the inner joint part, the center line of the ball tracks towards the attaching end, moves radially outwardly beyond said second reference radius.

Counter track joint for large articulation angles

A constant velocity fixed joint having an outer joint part () with outer ball tracks (), an inner joint part () with inner ball tracks (), the outer ball tracks and the inner ball tracks forming pairs of tracks (), the pairs of tracks each accommodate a torque transmitting ball (). Each two adjoining pairs of tracks comprise outer ball tracks with center lines in planes extending substantially parallel relative to one another, as well as inner ball tracks with center lines in planes extending substantially parallel relative to one another. An annular ball cage () is positioned between the outer joint part () and the inner joint part (). In an aligned joint, centers of the balls are held by the ball cage in the joint center plane and when the joint is articulated, they are guided onto the angle-bisecting plane between the longitudinal axes. The track cross-sections of the outer ball tracks and of the inner ball tracks of each pair of tracks are symmetrical relative to the axes of symmetry which, together with the planes, form identically sized angles opening in opposite directions, and each comprise a common point.

Fixed ball joint with turned track cross-sections

A constant velocity fixed ball joint provided with an outer joint with outer tracks and an inner joint part with inner tracks. The outer tracks and inner tracks form sets of tracks, with a torque transmitting ball being guided in each set of tracks. A ball cage accommodates the balls in circumferentially distributed cage windows and, when the joint is articulated, guides the balls on to the angle-bisecting plane between the longitudinal axes. The cage windows each accommodate pairs of balls. When the joint is in the aligned condition, in the central joint plane, the angular distance of the balls within the individual pairs of balls is smaller than the angular distance between balls associated with pairs adjoining one another; and the center lines of the sets of tracks of the pairs of balls extend in planes which extend parallel relative to one another.

Constant velocity ball joint with ball pairs whose tracks are located on symmetrical planes

A longitudinal plunging unit () for torque transmitting purposes in a shaft assembly, comprising an outer profiled sleeve () having circumferentially distributed, inner, longitudinally extending first ball grooves () to be connected to a first attachment part, a profiled journal () positioned inside the outer profiled sleeve () and having circumferentially distributed, outer, longitudinally extending second ball grooves () to be connected to a second attachment part, groups of balls () arranged in pairs of first and second ball grooves (), and a sleeve-shaped ball cage () which is positioned in the annular space between the profiled sleeve () and the profiled journal () and which fixes the groups of balls () in their respective positions relative to one another. The profiled journal () is a hollow journal comprising a material with a substantially uniform wall thickness with a maximum deviation of &#xb1;15%.
