A mechanical selector device for a gear changing gearbox of a motor vehicle with a non-synchronized reverse gear has an axially displaceable idler gear, which is connected by means of a selector unit with a selector sliding sleeve, by means of whose axial displacement first a synchronizer clutch and subsequently a positive drive gear clutch of a forward gear can be operated. In order to facilitate the engagement of the idler gear when the gearbox driven shaft and the rotating layshaft are stationary, the selector sliding sleeve is connected with a slotted lever having a slot and being pivotable about a bearing axis fixed in location with respect to the gearbox casing and the selector unit is connected to a slot follower constrained to travel in the slot and having a movement path fixed with respect to the spatial axes of the gearbox casing--or vice versa. The slot has two neutral sections, each of which has a shape conforming to the movement path and an intermediate engagement section with a shape deviating from the movement path in such a way that when the reverse gear is selected, the slot follower passes from one neutral section into the other neutral section, passing through the engagement section, and thus operates exclusively the synchronizer clutch, bringing this into frictional connection over only a limited section of the engagement path.

Gear changing device

A detent mechanism for holding shifting members of a mechanical transmission gear system in different shifted positions. The shifting members may be formed as shifting rocker arms pivotable about a bearing for shifting gears of the transmission. A detent contour may be provided at each shifting rocker arm with the detent contour being adapted to be engaged by a resiliently flexible member. A fixed bearing is arranged between the shifting rocker arm with the resiliently flexible member being constructed as a flat spring resting on the bearing and having free ends thereof counterbearing on the detent contours of the respective shifting rocker arms.

Detent mechanism for the different positions of a change-speed

An anti-skid protective cap for actuating pedals, such as brake pedals and the like, of a motor vehicle with a single downwardly projecting deflecting surface constructed so as to provide good sliding characteristics. This deflecting surface accomodates the sliding of the operator's shoe sole edge therealong during a pedal change. The deflecting surface is provided on the side of the protective cap facing a gas pedal, whereby the operator's shoe is prevented from getting stuck under the actuating pedal. The shoe-engaging portion of the cap may be artificially aged by applying a coating of an aqueous solution of sodium hypochlorite, or it may be provided with a coating of an elastic lacquer.

A clutch disk for motor vehicle main clutches which is equipped with a disk member carrying the friction linings and torsionally elastically arranged with respect to a hub member, whereby for a multistage torsional elasticity, several springs or spring sets with different characteristics are arranged in windows of one of a hub flange or of the disk member and of a lateral sheet metal member rigidly connected thereto, which cooperate with correspondingly larger windows in the respective other part; friction damping devices are thereby coordinated to the springs, whereby one of the friction damping devices is operable in the idling range and the others are operable in the operating range and the start of operation thereof are determined by control means engaging in the corresponding windows or cooperating with the corresponding spring ends; at least three spring stages of continuously harder characteristics, one friction device for the idling range and two separate main friction devices with control members for the operating range are thereby provided in the clutch disk according to this invention, whereby the control members are so constructed and arranged that the friction disk for the idling range is coordinated to the control member for the first main friction device so that with the beginning of the second spring stage, in lieu of the idling friction device, the effect of the first main friction device commences and the effect of the second main friction device commences still within the range of the second spring stage in such a manner that its damping action starts in addition to the damping action of the first friction device already within the range of the second spring stage by a corresponding dimension of the control member with respect to the windows or spring ends of the third stage.

A clutch disk for motor vehicle main clutches, in which a disk member carrying the friction linings is torsionally elastically connected with a hub member, and in which several separate springs or spring sets with separate damping characteristics are provided; the springs or spring sets are thereby retained in windows provided in one of the two parts which are torsionally elastically connected with each other while the start of operation of at least one of the damping devices is determined by a sheet metal control member; a separate prestressed control spring is thereby coordinated to the control member.

A clutch disk for motor vehicle main clutches which includes a disk member carrying the friction linings and torsionally elastically arranged with respect to a hub member whereby for purposes of achieving a multi-stage torsional elasticity, several springs or spring sets with different characteristics are provided in windows of a hub flange or of the disk member and of a lateral member rigidly connected therewith which cooperate with correspondingly larger windows in the other of these two parts; friction damping means are thereby coordinated to these springs whose start of operation are determined by control means which engage into the corresponding windows or cooperate with the spring ends; only the friction of the friction device which has been engaged last, is thereby effective in the operating range whereby two friction devices are provided, of which the first friction device is operatively connected by means of its control spring with the hub flange while the second friction device is operatively connected by means of its control spring with the lateral members; the two control members are thereby connected with each other by a drag-type connection which becomes effective only after the angular path provided for the idling range has been traversed.
