Devices, apparatuses, and methods for detecting product straps are provided. An example product security device for detecting product straps may include a base, and a pivot member affixed to the base via a first hinge. The pivot member may be configured to physically engage a strap to maintain the pivot member in a non-deflected position. The example device may further include a biasing member configured to urge the pivot member into a deflected position and a sensor configured to detect when the pivot member is in the deflected position. The sensor may be configured to, in response to detecting that the pivot member is in the deflected position, generate an alert signal. The example device may also include processing circuitry configured to receive the alert signal and, in response to receiving the alert signal, transmit an alert triggering signal to initiate an alert.

A label printer for printing labels can typically have a pressure roller and a corresponding print head, which print head can have a support, a spring base plate, and a spring disposed between the support and the spring base plate to bias the print head into engagement with the pressure roller. The spring base plate can be rotationally mounted on a bearing shaft which is preferably parallel to the pressure roller, and the free end of the bearing shaft can be flattened over a portion of its length to form two parallel key surfaces for engaging with a locking element that adjusts the biasing force of the spring by engaging and positioning the spring base plate. The locking element has a keyhole-like opening, with a circular portion having a diameter which is approximately equal to the diameter of the free end of the bearing shaft, and a narrow portion having a width approximately equal to the distance between the key surfaces of the bearing shaft to thereby non-rotationally fix the locking element to the bearing shaft.

A printer having a spring-loaded print head which can be pressed against a counterpressure roller, wherein an active strand of a printing ribbon and a medium to be printed run between the print head and the counterpressure roller, can be configured such that the printing ribbon is unwound from a first spool and is wound up on a second spool, can preferably have a slip clutch disposed between the drive of the second spool and the second spool and/or between a drive and a drive roller in contact with the medium to be printed, and the slip clutch can be disposed in a wheel with a concentric shaft.
