The cloud-based computer system () generates (S) remote diagnoses for a particular HVAC device, using a plurality of HVAC reporting messages received from a plurality of the HVAC controllers () from one or more HVAC systems (). The sensor system includes one or more sensors, and a second close range radio communication interface. The second close range radio communication interface is connected to the one or more sensors and establishes a local wireless communication link to the actuator via the first close range radio communication interface, and transmits operational values measured by the one or more sensors via the local wireless communication link to the actuator. The controller is connected to the first close range radio communication interface and receives the operational values via the local wireless communication link and controls operation of the actuator's electric motor in accordance with the operational values.

To balance (S) a group of consumers in a fluid transport system in which each consumer is provided with a motorized control valve for regulating the flow through the consumer, characteristic data for the consumers is stored (S) which determines a valve position of the relevant control valve for target flows through one of the consumers in each case. A current total flow through the group of consumers is determined by means of a common flow sensor (S) and a balance factor (S) is defined on the basis of the current total flow and a sum of the desired target flows through the consumers. The consumers are dynamically balanced by setting (S) the valve settings for the corresponding control valves on the basis of the characteristic data and the balance factor.

A connecting device comprises housing, a board with electrical components, including at least one digital bus connection and an input/output section. It allows outsourcing of analog and digital I/O from a connected device, e.g. an HVAC actuator control unit by decentralizing inputs and outputs.

Method for controlling operation of an HVAC system

Disclosed is an HVAC (heating, ventilation and air-conditioning) system which comprises a fluid flow duct (), a fluid flow valve () which is arranged therein and has a valve body () in the fluid flow duct () and a valve motor () which moves the valve body (), a control circuit for activating the valve motor, a sensor () in the fluid flow duct () and an evaluation module for evaluating signals of the sensor. To produce an automated functional control, the following procedure is adopted: a first actuation signal is preset for the valve motor by the control circuit, and the actuation signal corresponds to a first setpoint position of the valve body (), registration of a first signal of the sensor () by the evaluation module, and determination of a functional diagnosis of the fluid flow valve on the basis of the first signal of the sensor.

Automated functional diagnosis

For the purpose of balancing (S) a group of consumers in a fluid transport system in which each consumer is configured with a motorized regulating valve for the purpose of regulating the flow through the consumer, characteristic data for the consumer is saved (S) which determines a valve position of the corresponding regulating valve for the target throughput through each consumer. A momentary total throughput through the group of consumers is determined (S) by means of a common throughput sensor, and based on the momentary total throughput and a sum of the desired target throughputs through the consumers, a balancing factor is determined (S). By setting (S) the valve positions of the corresponding regulating valves based on the characteristic data and the balancing factor, a dynamic balancing of the consumers is carried out.

Method and devices for equalizing a group of consumers in a fluid transport system

The present disclosure provides methods and systems for regulating the room temperature in a room or in a plurality of rooms, the room temperature can be regulated by regulating the mass flow of a heat-carrying fluid flowing through a heat exchanger according to a determined current room temperature. In accordance with some embodiments, a temperature sensor in the room can be dispensed that can determine the current room temperature, in each case the mass flow of the heat carrying fluid through the heat exchanger and the flow temperature prevailing at the input to the heat exchanger and the return temperature prevailing at the output of the heat exchanger are measured, and that a temperature assigned to the determined values of the mass flow, the flow temperature and the return temperature is output as the current room temperature and used for regulation.
