A front hood assembly has a front hood of a motor vehicle that is hinged to the chassis of the motor vehicle via at least one multi-jointed hinge, said front hood being lockable via at least one hood lock. The at least one multi-jointed hinge comprises at least one connecting rod that is variable in length under the impact of a collision with a pedestrian. The assembly provides a protection for pedestrians that is technically feasible and can be implemented at low cost.

Front hood assembly

A vehicle hinge for coupling a flap to a vehicle body, comprises a first link, a second link, a first spring, wherein one of the first link and the second link are to be arranged pivotably on a body of a vehicle and on a flap of a vehicle, respectively, wherein, when the flap is closed, the first spring pretensions the flap in an opening direction, a tensioning device for tensioning the first spring in a second opening phase of the flap, and a locking device for retaining the tensioned first spring.

Vehicle hinge

A front hood assembly has a front hood of a motor vehicle that is hinged to the chassis of the motor vehicle via a hinge, the front hood being lockable via at least one hood lock. The hinge is plastically deformed under the impact of a collision with a pedestrian. The assembly provides a protection for pedestrians that is technically feasible and can be implemented at low costs.

A front hood system has a front hood of a vehicle coupled to the frame of the vehicle via at least one four-joint hinge. In addition, the front hood can be latched by means of at least one hood lock. An economically and technically feasible protection provided for pedestrians is accomplished in that at least one four-joint hinge has at least one link whose joint is situated on one of the parts of the front hood and the vehicle body can be displaced in the position thereof due to the force of impact of a pedestrian.

Front opening hood assembly

A drivable flap hinge for connecting a flaps such as a front hood or a trunk lid, to a body of an automobile in an articulated manner. The drivable hinge includes a first retaining part for fixing to the flap, a second retaining part for fixing to the body, at least one connecting member, which is pivotably arranged on at least one of the two retaining parts with a joint, and a driving motor, which is drive-connected to a joint pin of the joint. The flap hinge advantageously enables a front gate or tail gate of an automobile to pivot in a driven manner as a result of the driven joint pin connecting the first retaining part and the connection member.

Drivable flap hinge

A front hood assembly has a front hood of a motor vehicle that is hinged to the chassis of the motor vehicle via at least one hinge, said front hood being lockable via at least one hood lock. The hinge comprises means for displacing a joint depending on the vehicle speed to an upper or a lower position, independent of whether a collision with a pedestrian has taken place or not. The assembly provides a protection for pedestrians that is technically feasible and can be implemented at low cost. In a method for actuating the front hood of a motor vehicle depending on the vehicle speed, the front hood is displaced into a lifted position at least in the area of its hinges if a lower threshold value of the vehicle speed is exceeded or if the vehicle speed falls below an upper threshold value.

A vehicle front hood hinge mechanism uses at least one spring-loaded hinge for securing the front hood to the body of the automobile, which front hood is deflected upon impact with a pedestrian against a vertical spring force. One linkage of the hinge is coupled to the automobile body by a sliding linkage arm that is displaced horizontally against a spring bias.
