The invention relates to an expansion device for a refrigerant, in particular an expansion device to control the high-pressure level of an air conditioner. In accordance with the invention, it is provided that the expansion device () is a sliding seat valve (). In addition, the invention relates to an air conditioner (), in particular an air conditioner () for a motor vehicle, with a compressor (), a condenser or gas cooler (), an expansion device () as well as an evaporator (). In accordance with the invention, it is proposed that the expansion device () is formed by at least one sliding seat valve ().

Expansion device for an air conditioning system

The invention relates to a system for cooling and heating, having a first heat exchanger () for outputting heat to and extracting it from a heat reservoir (); a second heat exchanger () for extracting heat from and outputting it into a space () to be cooled or heated; a compressor (); an expansion device (); and means () for switchover between a cooling mode and a heating mode; wherein the switchover means () are integrated with a module (). The invention also relates to a method for switching over between a cooling mode and a heating mode.

System and method for cooling or heating

The invention is based on a climate control system for a vehicle that is driven by an internal combustion engine (), having a heating heat exchanger () which is connected to a coolant loop () of the engine () and is preceded upstream of a blower () by an evaporator (), and a compressor () in a refrigerant loop (), during a cooling mode, pumps a refrigerant via a gas cooler () and via an expansion valve () to the evaporator () and during a heating mode pumps it to the evaporator bypassing the gas cooler (), and between the coolant loop () and the refrigerant loop () a coupling heat exchanger () is provided. It is proposed that the coupling heat exchanger () is disposed upstream of the gas cooler () on the side of the refrigerant loop () on the compression side of the compressor (); that a bypass line () is connected parallel to the gas cooler (), and the flow through the gas cooler () and the bypass line () is controlled as a function of operating parameters via a switching valve () in the bypass line () and one switching valve () each at the inlet and outlet, respectively, of the gas cooler (); and that in the heating mode, the evaporator () serves as a heat source.

Air conditioning system

The invention relates to an air-conditioning unit () for a motor vehicle with a heating heat transfer unit () connected to a coolant circuit () in an internal combustion engine and comprising an evaporator () installed upstream in the direction of flow of a fan (). A compressor () in a refrigerant circuit () pumps a refrigerant through a gas cooler () and an expansion valve () during a cooling operation, and pumps said refrigerant to the evaporator () via the expansion valve () by by-passing the gas cooler () during a heating operation. A coupled heat exchanger () is provided between the coolant circuit () and the refrigerant circuit (). The invention provides that the coupled heat exchanger () is located in the refrigerant circuit () on the pressure side of the compressor () upstream of the gas cooler (), a first by-pass line () is provided parallel to the gas cooler () and the flow through the gas cooler () and the first by-pass line () is controlled by a switching valve () in the first by-pass line () and a switching valve () located at each of the inlet and outlet of the gas cooler (), depending on operating parameters, and a heat transfer unit () for a medium in a unit in the refrigerant circuit () is connected behind an expansion valve (or) and serves as heat source in heating operation.
