An automotive racing oil and method of making same, the automotive racing oil comprising base oil comprising polyalphaolefin and racing oil components effective to produce automotive racing oil properties comprising a kinematic viscosity of from about 3.2 centistokes (cSt) to about 25 cSt at 100&#xb0; C. and a coefficient of friction of about 0.065 or less at 180&#xb0; C., the automotive racing oil having a molybdenum concentration of more than 360 ppm and a zinc concentration of about 1400 ppm or more, both as measured by X-ray fluorescence, and a quantity of a combination of esters maintaining the racing oil components in solution in the base oil, the combination of esters comprising one or more multiester(s) and one or more polyol monoester(s).

Engine oils for racing applications and method of making same

A lubricating composition comprising a major portion of a lubricating oil and a minor portion of an alkyl or alkenyl-substituted succinimide, which succinimide is the reaction product of a polyamine with 3 to 25 carbon atoms, such has been selected from linear and branched alkylene polyamines, cycloaliphatic polyamines and heterocyclic polyamines, and an alkyl or alkenyl-substituted succinic anhydride, in which the alkyl or alkenyl moiety has a number average molecular weight from 600 to 1300 and in which the average number of succinic groups per alkyl or alkenyl group is between 1.4 and 4.0.

Lubricating composition

The invention relates, in one embodiment, to a method for separating coal particles from an aqueous slurry in which a multiple emulsion of oil in water is added to the aqueous slurry, the mixture is agitated to form agglomerates of coal particles, and the coal particles are separated from the remaining aqueous slurry. By the use of a multiple emulsion of oil in water, the amount of coal recovered per unit weight of oil is increased.
