A safety cover configured to be releasably secured to an exposed portion of a construction element so as to provide improved visibility thereof and provide impalement protection. The safety cover includes a body having an upper portion and a lower portion. The upper portion and lower portion of the body are integrally formed wherein the lower portion of the body extends downward from the lower surface of the upper portion. In one embodiment the upper portion includes a central support member having a curved portion with an upper impact rib structure. The curve portion further has a second rib formation opposite the upper impacts rib structure wherein the second rib formation extends downward into the lower portion. A support collar is disposed in the lower portion and is configured to engage a metal stake or bar. An impact layer can further be present in the upper portion.

Safety apparatus

A safety cover configured to be releasably secured to an exposed portion of a construction element so as to provide improved visibility thereof and provide impalement protection. The safety cover includes a body having an upper portion and a lower portion. The upper portion and lower portion of the body are integrally formed wherein the lower portion of the body extends downward from the lower surface of the upper portion. The lower portion of the body includes three receiving members equidistantly positioned along the width of the upper portion. The three receiving members include walls forming a cavity having an opening operable to provide access thereto. The upper portion further has a top member superposed thereon. Furthermore, a cap member is superposed the upper portion of the body with the top member being intermediate the upper portion and the cap member.

A safety apparatus configured to be releasably secured to an exposed portion of a construction element so as to provide improved visibility thereof and provide enhanced safety in the proximate environment. The safety apparatus includes a body having an upper portion and a lower portion. The upper portion and lower portion of the body are integrally formed wherein the lower portion of the body extends downward from the lower surface of the upper portion. The lower portion of the body includes three receiving members equidistantly positioned along the width of the upper portion. The three receiving members include walls forming a cavity having an opening operable to provide access thereto. One of the three receiving members has a length that is greater than the other two receiving members. Further, a pair of apertures are formed in opposing walls of one of the three receiving members.

Electrical plug restricting apparatus includes a male inlet connector fixable to an electrical equipment chassis, a restraint device attachable to the connector and including a plug supporting base, the base having apertures therethrough, and at least one plug securing cable tie insertable through the base aperture and having a length sufficient to surround the plug, the tie securing the plug to the base when tightened.

Nema-type AC power outlet connectors

Electrical equipment is disclosed that comprises a front-mounting electrical component, such as an IEC connector, a switch, a circuit breaker or a lamp or indicator. The electrical component has a body with a retaining shoulder at an outside end region and electrical terminals projecting from an inside end region. Included is an equipment enclosure, such as a chassis box, having sides, a selected one of the sides being formed with a cutout for receiving the retaining shoulder of the front-mounting electrical component. Also included is an electrical component retaining plate having a front side and a back side and having a cutout into which is received, from the front side of the plate, the body of the front-mounting electrical component so as to install the electrical component in the retaining plate. The plate is sized to fit against an inside surface of the selected enclosure side so that the shoulder of the front-mounting electrical component installed in the plate cutout is aligned with the cutout in the selected enclosure side. Screws detachably attach the plate to the selected enclosure side with the front side of the plate against the inside surface of the selected enclosure side, with the shoulder of the front-mounting electrical component installed in plate received into the enclosure side cutout. Electrical connections, which may be electrical wires or a printed circuit card, are attached to electrical terminals of the front-mounting electrical component installed in the plate and projecting from the back side of the plate. There is described a corresponding method of assembling electrical equipment using front-mounting electrical components. Equipment variations are described.

Electrical equipment and method of assembling same

A connector restraint device is disclosed for restraining electrical wire end connectors plugged into connectors installed in a wall of an electrical equipment enclosure, and for tying down electrical wires attached to the electrical wire end connectors. The connector restraint device includes a base portion to which is joined an elongate wire support and tie-down angle having a horizontal leg and a vertical leg depending from the horizontal leg. Each of the horizontal and vertical legs are formed having a number of closely spaced square apertures along the legs, the apertures being sized for receiving conventional wire ties. Further disclosed are connector restraint device side flanges joined to ends of the device base portion for detachably attaching the angle to the enclosure with the wire support and tie-down angle parallel to and spaced about three inches away from the enclosure wall in which the connectors are installed and with the horizontal leg parallel to the enclosure wall in which the connectors are installed at the height of the connectors so that electrical wires connected to the connectors can be extended generally horizontally over the horizontal leg. The wire support and tie-down angle is formed so that the vertical leg depends from an edge of the horizontal leg that is closest to the enclosure when the angle is attached to the enclosure. Both rear-mount and front-mount connector restraint devices are disclosed for when enclosure-mounted connectors are installed in the enclosure rear wall or front wall.

Connector restraint device for electrical equipment

An electronic switched-output controller apparatus comprises a plurality of relays for providing a plurality of controlled switched outputs, the relays being selected from the group consisting of power relays, signal switching relays, dry contact closing relays and combinations thereof, each of the relays having a corresponding relay operating coil. A power section is configured for receiving AC line power and for providing internal operating DC voltage and is connected for providing line AC power to any power relays and thereby to corresponding outputs when the corresponding power relay coils are actuated, and for providing DC voltage to any signal switching relays and thereby to corresponding outputs when the corresponding switching signal relay coils are activated. A microcontroller is connected for receiving at least one operating DC voltage and has outputs connected to the relay coils, the microcontroller being programmable so as to activate one or more of the relay coils in accordance with a preestablished protocol for operation of said relays. An RS485 or RS 482 network, having a parallel-connected RS232 network, is connected to the microcontroller for receiving commands from an external source and for relaying the received signals to another switched-output controller apparatus at a remote distance of up to about 4000 feet. A corresponding method of constructing a switched-output controller apparatus and system is provided.

Switched-output controller apparatus with repeater function and method

A one time programmable (OTP) electronic switched-output controller apparatus comprises a plurality of switched-output relays which may be power relays, signal voltage relays, dry switching relays or any combination thereof. A power section receives AC line power and provides at least one internal operating DC voltage and provides line AC power to any power relays and to the related power outputs when the relay are actuated. An A-D converter provides DC voltage for internal operation and to any DC voltage relays. A one time programmable microcontroller, which has outputs connected to the relay coils, is programmed before installation in the switched-output controller apparatus to cause actuation of the relay coils in accordance with a preestablished operating protocol. The apparatus is shown connected for receiving RS232 signals and has an internal modem for receiving external signals over a telephone line. A relay enables switching between the RS232 and modem inputs. Provision is also made to receive other external signals, for example, from temperature or pressure sensing devices. A corresponding method of manufacturing the OTP switched-output controller apparatus is disclosed.

One time programmable switched-output controller

A power controller comprises a manually-on circuit breaker having an electrically-actuatable trip coil which enables the circuit breaker to be tripped-off electrically. The circuit breaker is connected to a voltage source and provides operating voltage to a power outlet. A line voltage monitor provides a voltage indication to a logic control circuit when operating voltage moves outside a predetermined range established by setting upper and lower operating voltage limits. In response to receiving such a voltage indication, the logic control circuit deenergizes a relay, thereby connecting a charged capacitor to the tripping coil of the circuit breaker to cause the breaker to be tripped-off even when the voltage to the circuit breaker drops to zero volts. Other signals provided to the control logic circuit also cause the deenergizing of the relay controlling the circuit breaker tripping capacitor. A logic control timing circuit enables the circuit breaker to latch on when it is manually turned on and while the operating voltage is stabilizing in the line voltage monitor. The power controller apparatus may include at least one switched power outlet connected for receiving operating voltage from the circuit breaker and includes a switch for enabling the switched power outlet to be selectively turned on and off while the circuit breaker is tripped on.
