The present invention is an aerator for inducing air flow below the surface of a liquid. The aerator includes a motor having a drive shaft. A propeller is operably connected to the drive shaft of the motor and a blower is operably connected to the motor. The aerator further includes an air flow path that has an inlet and an outlet, with the inlet connected to the blower and the outlet located near the propeller. The blower and the propeller rotate at different speeds.

Turbocharged aerator

The invention is a paddlewheel aerator having a support structure, a drive mechanism contained within the support structure, a rotatable shaft extending horizontally from the drive mechanism; and a plurality of paddlewheels surrounding the shaft. A plurality of support legs are formed integrally with the support structure. In a preferred embodiment, a watertight drive box is positioned within the support structure. The drive box has a removable cover and a substantially water tight seal for preventing ingress of water. The drive box contains a motor drivably connected to the shaft. The motor is contained within an upper portion of the drive box so that the motor is positioned at a vertically elevated level compared to the shaft.

Horizontal surface aerator

The present invention relates to an aerating fountain for use in aerating water and producing aesthetically appealing water sprays. The fountain has a float with an aperture running through its center. It has an electric motor with an impeller coupled to its shaft. The motor is mounted to the float such that the impeller is adjacent to the float aperture. The fountain has a nozzle plate having a set of nozzles. The nozzle plate is releasably coupled to a top side of the float such that one of the nozzles is disposed directly above the float aperture. The nozzle plate is coupled to the float in such a manner that it may be easily adjusted to bring a different nozzle into alignment with the float aperture.

A floatable aeration apparatus having a flotation system, a work deck and an aerator. The aerator and the work deck are supported by the flotation system. The work deck is configured to support an operator for improved safety during maintenance procedures. In the preferred embodiment, the floatable aeration apparatus further includes a receptacle for supporting a portable crane.

An improved aerator, including a removable stator, is disclosed. The aerator includes a submersible motor having a drive shaft which rotates an attached impeller within an aeration zone. The aeration zone includes the removable stator, an upper ring to which the submersible motor is attached and a lower ring. The removable stator engages the upper ring and the lower ring, and is configured to be readily removed from the aeration zone.

An apparatus for the treatment of liquid by aeration is provided. The apparatus has a motor, a propeller carried by a motor-driven shaft, an air flow passage to the propeller, bearings supporting the shaft at a location spaced from the motor and at least one bearing seal between a bearing and the propeller. In accordance with the present invention, a module for releasably carrying at least one of the bearing seals is detachably secured about the shaft to faciliate removal of at least the bearing seals from the apparatus.

An apparatus for the treatment of liquid by aeration is provided. The apparatus has a motor, a propeller carried by a motor-driven shaft, an airflow passage to the propeller, and bearings supporting the shaft at at least one location spaced from the motor. In accordance with the present invention, an air pocket is established about at least one of the bearings for keeping liquid from the bearings as by a conical member extending over the shaft from the bearing.

Apparatus for the treatment of liquids, including waste liquids, by aeration. The apparatus has a propeller, a motor and a leg extending between the motor and propeller. The leg includes a shaft coupled to the motor, the shaft driving the propeller. An outer housing of the leg generally surrounds the shaft. Air is drawn into and through the leg on rotation of the propeller within the liquid and is discharged into the liquid generally adjacent the propeller. In the improvement of the present invention, the shaft is solid while a tubular cantilever is supported at one of its ends within the outer leg housing in surrouding relation to the shaft. The tubular cantilever extends from its supported end away from the motor. Bearings support the shaft via the tubular cantilever at spaced locations along the shaft and cantilever.
