Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. Generally, a user equipment (UE) may send a capabilities report to a base station. The capabilities report may include an explicit indication that the UE is capable of receiving a maximum layer radio resource control (RRC) parameter, or may include ambiguous (e.g., multiple) capabilities. The base station may receive the capabilities report, and may determine whether to transmit a maximum layer RRC parameter based on the explicit indication, or the ambiguous capabilities, which indicates a maximum number of layers to be used for subsequent communications. If the UE is capable of receiving the maximum layer RRC parameter, the base station may send the maximum layer RRC parameter to the UE, and may perform wireless communications according to the indicated maximum number of layers.

Control-less operation for coverage limited machine-type-communications

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described for controlling multiplexing of a reference signal on an uplink shared channel (UL-SCH). In an implementation, a user equipment (UE) may time division multiplex (TDM) a demodulation reference signal (DMRS) with other signaling across symbol periods of one or more allocated resource blocks. The UE may map the DMRS to resource elements of one or more symbol periods within the allocated resource blocks. The UE may then map uplink control information (UCI) to one or more symbol periods different than the symbol periods of the DMRS mapping. In some cases, the DMRS, UCI, or both may be frequency interleaved with UL-SCH data for the allocated resource blocks. The UE may generate and transmit an uplink waveform for transmission within the allocated resources of the uplink shared channel.

Controlling multiplexing of a reference signal on an uplink shared channel

A base station (BS) may determine (estimate) a preparation time for at least one uplink (UL) transmission by a user equipment (UE) on at least one radio frequency (RF) carrier. The BS may determine the preparation time so that the BS will send a grant for the at least one transmission to the UE a sufficient amount of time (based on the estimated preparation time) before the at least one transmission is scheduled to occur to enable the UE to conduct the at least one UL transmission on a selected one of the RF carriers or on both RF carriers. The BS may select the longest preparation time from the preparation times of different RF carriers. The BS may select the subcarrier spacing (SCS) index from the SCS indexes for different RF carriers that provides a longer preparation time. The BS may add a defined value to a preparation time.

Determining transmission preparation time for wireless communication on at least one carrier

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive a message scheduling a multi-repetition uplink transmission to a base station. The UE may generate a protocol data unit (PDU) comprising filler data for the multi-repetition uplink transmission based at least in part on a quantity of data in a buffer for transmission to the base station failing to satisfy a threshold. The UE may transmit a repetition of the multi-repetition uplink transmission based at least in part on determining that the repetition overlaps with a feedback message scheduled for transmission to the base station, the repetition comprising the PDU multiplexed with the feedback message. The UE may suppress a transmission of one or more additional repetitions of the multi-repetition uplink transmission that do not overlap with the feedback message based at least in part on the PDU comprising the filler data.

Feedback multiplexing for uplink transmission with repetition skipping

Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a base station may transmit a plurality of physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) communications in a same PDCCH monitoring occasion in a first cell, and may transmit a plurality of physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH) communications in at least one of the first cell or a second cell. Each of the PDCCH communications schedules a respective PDSCH communication of the plurality of PDSCH communications. A PDCCH communication, of the plurality of PDCCH communications, includes an indication of a counter downlink assignment index that is based at least in part on a combination of a starting symbol and a cell in which an associated PDSCH communication is to be transmitted, a cell index of the cell in which the associated PDSCH communication is to be transmitted, and the PDCCH monitoring occasion. HARQ feedback reporting for cross-carrier scheduling

Aspects presented herein provide a low PAPR waveform design based on resource spreading, pulse shaping, and/or dynamic MCS configuration, such that a transmitting wireless device may set IBO of its PA closer to the saturation point of the PA to enhance the PA efficiency. In one aspect, a first network node receives waveform information from a second network node, where the waveform information includes at least one of: one or more first parameters associated with a first waveform type or one or more second parameters associated with a second waveform type. The first network node processes data based on the one or more first parameters associated with the first waveform type or the one or more second parameters associated with the second waveform type. The first network node transmits a waveform based on the processed data, where the waveform is the first waveform type or the second waveform type.

Low peak-to-average power ratio waveform generation

This disclosure provides systems, methods and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media for a reduced capability (RedCap) user equipment (UE) and supporting cell. The RedCap UE is configured with multiple bandwidth parts (BWPs). A maximum bandwidth of the RedCap UE is lower than a maximum bandwidth of a non-RedCap UEs. The UE receives a cell-defining synchronization signal block (CD-SSB) that defines a shared initial downlink BWP for RedCap UEs and non-RedCap UEs. The UE switches to a separate initial downlink BWP for RedCap UEs. The UE accesses the cell via the separate initial downlink BWP. The UE receives a configuration of an active downlink BWP for RedCap UEs. The UE determines whether to switch from the active downlink BWP to the shared initial BWP or the separate initial downlink BWP to obtain information such as updated system information, system measurements, and uplink configuration information.

Selection of different initial bandwidth parts for reduced capability user equipment

This disclosure provides systems, methods and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media for resolving collisions between deferred uplink transmissions based on priority. A user equipment (UE) receives a first semi-persistent scheduling (SPS) configuration including an indication of resources for acknowledgment (ACK) reporting as uplink control information (UCI), the first SPS configuration indicating a first priority level. The UE receives a second signaling indicating a second priority level for a second transmission, the second priority level being higher than the first priority level. The UE defers a first UCI transmission according to the first SPS configuration during one or more downlink slots to a first uplink capable slot. The first UCI transmission in the first uplink capable slot collides with the second transmission. The UE transmits the second transmission in the first uplink capable slot based on the second priority level being higher than the first priority level.

Deferral of SPS HARQ-ACK with different priorities

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. The method may include a user equipment (UE) transmitting a first signal using a first waveform type. After transmitting the first signal using the first waveform type, the UE may identify a trigger event for waveform type switching by the UE and select a waveform type from among a set of waveform types based on identifying the trigger event. The UE may then transmit a second signal using the selected waveform type.

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described that provide for reduced timing between certain downlink communications and responsive uplink communications relative to certain legacy systems (e.g., legacy LTE systems). A user equipment (UE) or base station may be capable of operating using two or more timing configurations that each include an associated time period between receipt of a downlink communication (e.g., a grant of uplink resources or shared channel data) and a responsive uplink communication (e.g., an uplink transmission using the granted uplink resources or feedback of successful reception of the shared channel data). In cases where a UE or base station are capable of two or more timing configurations, a timing configuration for a transmission may be determined and the responsive uplink communication transmitted according to the determined timing configuration.

In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may append one or more bits of a scheduling request (SR), having a first priority and in a first physical uplink control channel (PUCCH) resource associated with a first format, to one of more bits of a hybrid automatic repeat request acknowledgement (HARQ-ACK), having a second priority and in a second PUCCH resource associated with a second format, to form a multiplexed SR and HARQ-ACK. The UE may select a PUCCH resource, from a plurality of high priority PUCCH resources, based at least in part on a payload size of the multiplexed SR and HARQ-ACK. The UE may transmit, to a network node, the multiplexed SR and HARQ-ACK using the selected PUCCH resource. Numerous other aspects are described.

Multiplexing hybrid automatic repeat request acknowledgement and scheduling request with different priorities and physical uplink control channel formats

In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may transmit capability information indicating a capability of the UE to receive multicast communications while operating in an inactive state. The UE may receive, from a first cell, configuration information that indicates a common frequency resource (CFR) associated with receiving multicast communications from the first cell while operating in the inactive state. The UE may receive, from the first cell, multicast mobility information associated with receiving multicast communications from one or more neighboring cells while operating in the inactive state. The UE may receive, while operating in the inactive state, one or more multicast communications from at least one of the first cell or a second cell based at least in part on at least one of the configuration information or the multicast mobility information. A method of wireless communication performed by a user equipment (UE) includes receiving a message indicating multiple control resource sets (CORESETs). Each CORESET of the multiple CORESETs comprising one or more quasi-co-location (QCL)-Type-D properties and associated with a respective physical downlink control (PDCCH) monitoring occasion of overlapping PDCCH monitoring occasions. One or more respective PDCCH candidates corresponding to the respective PDCCH monitoring occasion. The method also includes receiving, on one or more component carriers (CCs) operating on a same band, simultaneous beams comprising multiple PDCCH candidates. The method further includes monitoring a set of PDCCH candidates of the plurality of PDCCH candidates comprising a first CORESET of the multiple CORESETs comprising a first QCL-Type-D property, a second CORESET of the multiple CORESETs associated with a second QCL-Type-D property, and a set of monitoring CORESETs of the multiple CORESETs. Each of the monitoring CORESET associated with one or both of the first QCL-Type-D property or the second QCL-Type-D property based on a number of QCL-Type-D properties of a respective monitoring CORESET. In some examples, the first CORESET is a highest priority CORESET based on a set of priority rules.
