Methods for monitoring quality metrics of a video session transmitted over a mobile video delivery network facility are disclosed. A method for monitoring quality of a video system that uses traffic transmitted over a mobile video delivery network facility may include tapping, by a video quality probe, into a mobile network traffic stream transmitted over the mobile video delivery network facility, filtering, by the video quality probe, the tapped mobile network traffic stream to identify an individual video session; and determining, by the video quality probe, a video quality parameter corresponding to the identified individual video session.

Methods for monitoring quality metrics of a video session that uses traffic transmitted over a mobile video delivery network facility are disclosed. A method for monitoring quality of a video system that uses traffic transmitted over a mobile video delivery network facility may include monitoring the mobile video delivery network facility that handles at least a portion of the video traffic for the video session for information about the video traffic at a location of the mobile video delivery network facility and monitoring at least one user mobile device that plays the video delivered by the mobile video delivery network facility using a software development kit (SDK) that reports at least one media delivery quality metric.

Streaming media network parameters are measured using an electronic system and displayed directly to a user or transmitted via an electronic interface such as an existing system network conduit, either in or out-of-band. A scalable hardware and/or software compute engine filters and reduces network parameters to simplify tracking the instantaneous and long term streaming media performance of the network. Hence, the entire set of active media streams is continuously monitored concurrently, thereby providing the ability to detect impairments as well as predict impending impairments. In one example, an existing packetized network conduit containing streaming media is tapped to concurrently and objectively analyze the streaming media streams, producing statistics (such as delay factor and media loss rate) and alarm-type events according to predetermined rules. Tapping the existing packetized network in multiple points provides comparison points and assists in pinpointing the source(s) of the impairment(s).

System and method for analyzing the performance of multiple transportation streams of streaming media in packet-based networks

Streaming media network transportation streams are created using an electronic system and transmitted via an electronic interface such as an existing system network conduit (i.e. Ethernet, USB, or other packet-based architectures). A scalable hardware and/or software compute engine modifies an initial stream's identifier(s) while replicating the stream content to economically create streams. Hence, an entire network's capacity of active streams may be created from a single initial stream. In one examples, an initial stream is stored in advance of transmission for such use. In other examples, an initial stream is received and processed to dynamically create streams from the initial stream as the initial stream is being received.

System and method for creating multiple transportation streams of streaming media network test traffic in packet-based networks

Video content information associated with a video content is received by a computing device. End destination information associated with a reception instance of the video content is also received by the computing device. At least a portion of the video content information and at least a portion of the end destination information are selectively aggregated to generate aggregated information.

Streaming media network streams are modified using a sequence field with the IP layer 3 protocol compatible with already deployed IP switching systems except as noted for device and system testing and operational monitoring which can be used to detect the loss or out of order delivery of packets belonging to a stream. This approach can also provide the ability to numerically characterize the loss in terms of total loss, loss burst size, and loss frequency. By utilizing the bit locations of the IP-defined datagram Identification (ID) field and a unique numerical sequence, loss and out of order delivery may be tracked while avoiding the overhead and complexity associated with added upper layer protocols while gaining other key advantages such as in-situ marking of stream attributes.

System and method for creating a sequence number field for streaming media in a packet-based networks utilizing internet protocol

A method and system of monitoring code as it is executed by a target processor is provided for debugging, etc. Standardized software code function preamble and postamble instructions are dynamically replaced with instructions that will generate a predetermined exception. The exception generates a branch to a conventional exception vector table. An exception routine is inserted into the vector table, and includes instruction(s) to disable the data and/or address caches. Subsequent instructions in the vector table execute the replaced preamble instruction and, with or without re-enabling the cache, branch back to the address of the program code immediately following the faulted preamble address. Instructions of the function executed while cache is disabled are executed on the bus where they are visible, as opposed to within cache.

Dynamic software code instrumentation method and system

A method and system of monitoring code after being compiled or assembled is provided. Software code instructions, such as a function preamble and/or a data manipulation instruction, are identified using debug information and then dynamically replaced with an instruction that will branch execution to a scratchpad buffer. A routine is inserted into the scratchpad buffer, and includes instruction(s) to generate output to a trace buffer. Subsequent instructions in the scratchpad may execute the replaced instruction(s) and branch back to the address of the program code immediately following the original address of the replaced instruction.
