A hybrid drive, in particular, for a motor vehicle, includes: an internal combustion engine and a transmission disposed on the output side of the internal combustion engine, which transmission is drivable by the internal combustion engine; and an electric motor associated with the transmission having an electrically driven rotor through which the transmission is additionally drivable. The transmission includes an input shaft that is driven by the internal combustion engine and runs in the longitudinal direction of the transmission, an output shaft to drive a machine disposed on the output side of the transmission, or drive wheels in the case of a vehicle, and a plurality of manually or automatically shiftable gear stages to set the various gear ratios between the input shaft and the output shaft. The electric motor at its longitudinal axis and/or rotational axis of its rotor is attached to the output shaft in parallel or essentially parallel fashion laterally externally to the transmission.

Hybrid drive, in particular, for a motor vehicle

A drive unit includes a motor, a hydrodynamic retarder, at least one pump, at least one feed line for feeding operating medium to the retarder, and at least one bypass line which conveys operating medium past the retarder. A device for directing the flow of operating medium is arranged upstream of the retarder in the direction of flow. The device can feed the operating medium through the retarder via the feed line, feed the operating medium past the retarder via a bypass line, or divide the total flow of operating medium into at least two predetermined parts. A first predetermined part of the operating medium is fed through the retarder via the feed line. A second predetermined part of the operating medium is conveyed past the retarder via the bypass line.

A regulating device is for a primary braking system in the drive train of a vehicle, especially a primary retarder in a vehicle. The device includes at least one control/regulator unit, a device for detecting gear shifts transmitting at least one measuring signal, and at least one actuator enabling the braking moment of the primary braking system to be adjusted. The regulating device is characterized in that the at least one control/regulator unit controls the at least one actuator in order to adjust the braking moment of the primary braking system according to the measuring signal or measuring signals in such a way that the braking moment of the primary brake is reduced for the entire duration of a gear shift.

A drive unit having an engine comprising at least one engine output shaft, a transmission following the engine and a coolant circuit with at least one water pump. The water pump is arranged behind the engine viewed in the direction of force flow. The drive unit may also include a hydrodynamic retarder having a stator and a rotor.

A drive unit for a motor vehicle having an engine; a transmission featuring a transmission housing; and a retarder featuring a rotor and a stator. A retarder shaft is provided that is supported by two bearings which are offset along the axial length of the retarder shaft. At least one of the bearings ('outside bearing') is supported by a wall ('outside wall') of the transmission housing. The retarder shaft protrudes freely beyond the outside wall of the transmission housing. Disposed on the retarder shaft, outside the outer bearing, on the outside wall, is a sealing component. The sealing component seals the clearance between the retarder (or pinion) shaft and the outside wall, preventing passage therethrough of the transmission oil and the operating medium of the retarder.

A drive unit for a vehicle which includes an engine, transmission and hydrodynamic retarder having a rotor and a stator. A retarder shaft is rotatably supported by two bearings and extends through the housing of the transmission. A sealing element provides a seal between the retarder shaft and the transmission housing for separating the operating medium of the hydrodynamic retarder from either the transmission lubricant or the lubricant for one of the two shaft bearings.

The invention relates to a drive unit for a motor vehicle having a hydrodynamic retarder and a drive train with an engine and a transmission. The hydrodynamic retarder is comprised of a rotor impeller wheel and a stator impeller wheel and is coordinated with the main drive train in a manner such that the rotor impeller wheel of the hydrodynamic retarder is driven by the drive train. The operating fluid of the hydrodynamic retarder is a medium used for cooling the vehicle and a clutch is arranged between the drive train and the hydrodynamic retarder.

A drive unit includes a hydrodynamic retarder having a rotor paddle wheel, a stator paddle wheel, and a housing surrounding the rotor and stator wheels. The unit includes a coolant cycle system for an internal combustion engine, the coolant for this coolant cycle also being a working medium of the retarder. The drive unit further includes a working medium container for the coolant. A first pipe connects a hydrodynamic center of the retarder to a valve. A second, leakage pipe is disposed between a working medium outlet of the retarder and the valve. A third pipe is disposed between the valve and the working medium container. The valve is designed such that in a first position, a conducting connection is established between the working medium container and the leakage pipe to provide for a pumping operation of the retarder. When the valve is in a second position, a conducting connection is established between the working medium container and the first pipe for a braking operation of the retarder.

The unit has a coolant cycle system, through which a coolant flows, the coolant also being a working medium of the retarder. The drive unit further includes a working medium container for the coolant and a pipe having a valve. The pipe is disposed between the retarder and the working medium container. The unit also has a coolant feed line to the retarder.
