When the seat back is returned to the memory position, the memory pad engages a stop on the memory pawl that is pivoted to move the memory pad out of engagement with the internal gear teeth of the gear plate.

The seat also includes a seat cushion mounted on the seat cushion frame assembly for pivoting movement about a cushion pivoting axis. The seat also includes a cushion lock operably disposed to selectively lock the seat cushion frame assembly and the seat cushion relative to one another and thereby prevent the pivoting movement. The cushion lock defines a plurality of locked positions such that the seat cushion is positionable in a plurality of different orientations relative to the seat cushion frame assembly.

A seat track assembly for adjusting a seat assembly of a vehicle includes a first track and a second track that is moveable with respect to the first track. The seat track assembly further includes a latch mechanism associated with the second track, and the latch mechanism is operative to inhibit relative movement of the tracks. The latch mechanism includes multiple triggers that are each pivotable between a locked position in which the trigger is engaged with the first track, and an unlocked position in which the trigger is disengaged from the first track.

A seat for rear passengers of an automotive vehicle comprising a seat portion and an upright back support portion, the seat portion being supported by a linkage mechanism on a seat frame which articulates to permit the seat portion to be moved forwardly toward the front of the vehicle without the necessity of tilting and inverting it, whereby the seat portion forms a cargo-carrying platform. The upright back support portion is foldable on the seat portion to form a continuation of the platform. When the seat portion is in a passenger-supporting position, it locks the upright back support portion to the frame. The lock is released as the seat portion articulates towards its cargo-carrying position. An over-center spring acts on the rearward margin of the seat portion and is stressed when the seat portion is moved into its locking position.

A child restraint seat (22) is disposed in a cavity (20) of the backrest (14) in an adult passenger seat (10) for restraining a child in a vehicle. The child seat (22) comprises a seat portion (24) pivotal between a folded position recessed in the cavity (20) forming a lower portion of the adult backrest (14) and an unfolded position resting against the adult seat portion (12). A child backrest (26) is disposed in the cavity (20) and pivotal between a first position parallel with the inclined position of the adult backrest (14) and a second child backrest inclined position. The child seat (22) further includes a headrest (54) pivotal in an arcuate path about an axis of the adult backrest (14) between a folded position forming the upper portion of the adult backrest (14) and an unfolded position raised above the backrest (14) and forming an extended child backrest portion (26).
