A wellbore debris removal apparatus comprises a crossover sub having a first sub end and a second sub end, wherein the crossover sub includes at least one slotted mechanism and includes a fluid passageway extending from the first sub end to the second sub end. The wellbore debris removal apparatus comprises a debris removal tube having at least one lug and a tube end to be placed in the crossover sub such that the debris removal tube is engaged with the at least one slotted mechanism of the crossover sub via the at least one lug.

Downhole debris removal apparatus

Systems and methods are disclosed for controlling a downhole tool by encoding a tool control signal in a fluid flow and obtaining a temperature response downhole. In an example, a system for controlling a downhole tool includes a signal transmitter, a signal receiver, and a controller. The signal transmitter is uphole of the tool to be controlled (e.g., at surface) and encodes the tool control signal by varying one or more fluid flow parameters of a fluid flow down a well. The signal receiver is positionable in the well in fluid communication with the fluid flow. The signal receiver detects a temperature response in the fluid flow resulting from varying the one or more fluid flow parameters. A controller controls the downhole tool according to the temperature response.

Calorimetric control of downhole tools

A downhole tool for cleaning a wellbore includes a tool body having a passage therein. A liquid is to flow through the passage of the tool body and have an intermittent flow pattern. An inner sleeve positioned within the tool body includes a recess having a recess pattern. In response to the intermittent flow pattern of the flow of fluid, a shift pin positioned in the recess of the inner sleeve is to traverse through the recess pattern. The downhole tool includes at least one scraper blade. The scraper blade is movable between a retracted position and a radially expanded position. In response to the shift pin traversing the recess pattern of the recess, the scraper blade can be expanded radially outward toward a wall of the wellbore from the retracted position to the expanded position and/or retracted inward away from the wall of the wellbore from the expanded position to the retracted position.

An apparatus to be positioned in a wellbore formed in a subsurface formation. The apparatus comprises a flow control device to restrict a fluid flowing from the subsurface formation and into a tubular string positioned in the wellbore. The apparatus comprises a magnetic assembly positioned proximate the flow control device.

Magnetic inflow control device to inhibit scale production in a wellbore

A magnetic wellbore cleaning tool with one or more rows of magnets located in corresponding grooves on the tool mandrel. A window sleeve rotationally coupled to the mandrel with one or more windows configured to be selectively positioned in a closed or open configuration. The window sleeve can block the magnet flux of the one or more rows of magnets on the mandrel in the closed configuration. The one or more windows can align with corresponding magnets to gather debris from the wellbore in the open configuration. A signal from surface can activate a sleeve actuator to selectively position the one or more longitudinal windows in a closed position or an open position.

The downhole debris removal apparatus, in one aspect, includes an inner pipe positioned within a tubular, and a filtration member substantially encircling the inner pipe. The downhole debris removal apparatus, in this aspect, further includes a cleaning assembly positioned radially about at least a portion of the filtration member, the cleaning assembly configured to move relative to the filtration member to dislodge particulate matter from the filtration member.

A plug retrieval tool includes a mandrel lowerable into a wellbore. A retrieval head is coupled to the mandrel for selectively latching onto a plug. A shroud is telescopically coupled to the mandrel about the retrieval head and moveable repeatedly between an extended position below the retrieval head for displacing debris on the plug and a retracted position for moving the retrieval head closer to the plug to latch onto the plug. A resistance mechanism provides a resistance to moving the shroud each time the shroud is moved toward the retracted position.

A setting module for setting a packer assembly in a wellbore can include a motor, a sensor, and an electronic control device. The sensor can detect pressure of fluid from a surface of the wellbore in an inner diameter of the setting module and output detected pressure to an electronic control device. The electronic control device can detect a triggering pressure sequence of the fluid from the surface and can, in response to detecting the triggered pressure sequence, output a command to the motor to drive a pump to cause a slip to move for setting the packer assembly.

A variety of systems and methods are disclosed for cleaning a wellbore ahead of a well tool. The well tool is deployed on a tubular conveyance to a depth into a well. An interior surface of the well is wiped ahead of the well tool to dislodge debris from the interior surface of the well as the tubular conveyance advances downhole. The debris is filtered ahead of the well tool as the tubular conveyance advances downhole to keep the filtered debris away from the well tool. The well tool may then be used to perform a tool function when the tubular conveyance has reached the depth, without being affected by the filtered debris.

A downhole tool for cleaning debris from an inner surface of a downhole casing that includes an inner mandrel moveable within the casing; and a scraper mandrel movably coupled to the outside of the inner mandrel by the engagement of a lug within a groove, the scraper mandrel including a scraper blade positioned on an outside of the scraper mandrel. Longitudinal movement of the scraper mandrel relative to the inner mandrel causes the lug to move within the groove, causing the scraper mandrel and the scraper blade to rotate relative to the inner mandrel and clean debris from the inner surface of the casing. The longitudinal movement is achieved by restraining movement of the scraper mandrel relative to the inner mandrel by contacting the debris with a scraper blade on the outside of the scraper mandrel, causing the scraper mandrel to move longitudinally relative to the inner mandrel.

The downhole debris removal apparatus, in one aspect, includes a crossover sub, the crossover sub having a first sub end with one of a sub pin thread or sub box thread, a second sub end with the other of the sub box thread or sub pin thread, and a fluid passageway extending from the first sub end to the second sub end. The downhole debris removal apparatus, according to this aspect, further includes a debris removal tube having a first tube end and a second tube end, the first tube end removably engaged with the crossover sub between the first sub end and the second end.

A system and method for deployment of an isolation seal assembly wherein an isolation seal assembly is releasably attached to a reverse circulation debris removal tool. The system includes a debris removal tool having a head with an elongated snorkel extending from the head; and an isolation seal assembly attached to the head with a shear device so that the snorkel protrudes past the end of the isolation seal assembly. The isolation seal assembly further includes a tubular with a latch adjacent a first end, an external seal below the latch, and openings formed along tubular between latch and the seal. The debris removal tool is used to engage the isolation seal assembly with a lower completion assembly. The openings in the isolation seal assembly permit the debris removal tool to continue to function after the isolation seal assembly is engaged with the lower completion assembly.
