An electrical machine has a stator-rotor configuration in which the rotor has at least two poles. The poles are configured to rotate in an angle and to electromagnetically interact with one or more teeth that is a part of a stator adjoined in a fixed position to the electrical machine. The configuration forms a gap in the lateral direction between the poles and the teeth. At least one of the poles is formed of a permanent magnet material and a magnetic flux intensifier is arranged relative to at least one of the poles and one of the teeth. The magnetic flux intensifier is configured to concentrate the magnetic field lines between a pole and the teeth.

The present invention relates to a wind turbine having a wind turbine tower with a nacelle provided on the top to which a rotor hub with one or more wind turbine blades is rotatably mounted by a rotor shaft. A generator is arranged in the nacelle, wherein the superconducting rotor coils induce a current in the stator coils when the rotor is rotated, and wherein the stator coils are arranged in at least four phases. One or more converter modules convert the power output from the generator so that it matches the power of a power grid. The generator side of the converter modules comprises a number of rectifying circuits equal to the phases in the generator, while the power grid side comprises a number of inverting circuits equal to the phases of the power grid. This allows the transient of the electromagnetic brake torque relative to the nominal electromagnetic torque of the generator to be reduced. The ripples of the electromagnetic torque are also reduced since the switching frequency of the converter is increased. This in turn reduces the mechanical stresses occurring in the drive train in the event of a failure or error occurring in one of the converter modules. The present invention also relates to a method of operation of such a wind turbine where the defective converter module is selectively switched off and the wind turbine is put into operation again at a lower operation level.

This invention relates to an electric multiple motor/generator with axial magnetic flux. Thus a generator/motor or electrical machine in which a magnetic flux path through one or more pole legs or pole cores surrounded by current windings or coils is provided. This allows a high density of the magnetic flux to be passed through the pole legs or cores, which results in a low consumption of material for the pole legs or pole cores compared with prior art machines, where for example a large stator diameter may be needed in order to conduct a high magnetic flux. Additionally the generator/motor or electrical machine is very efficient both at a low and a high number of revolutions. According to another aspect of the invention a multiple phase output without enlarging the diameter of the generator is provided.

The invention concerns a generator for a windmill. The generator is of the kind being directly coupled to the main shaft of the wind rotor of the windmill. The generator is a stator consisting of a number of stator modules that are individual and which may be installed, repaired and dismantled individually and independently of each other. This implies that it is very easy and thereby cheaper to mount the mill, especially at sea, as the stator for the generator can be transported in smaller units, which also makes it easier to assemble the stator in the tower top section. By sequent repairs and other maintenance of the generator it is not necessary either to use large cranes, but it is sufficient to use smaller hoisting devices that may be handled by one or two persons.
