A blower unit, particularly for an apparatus for assisting respiration, comprises a housing (), an impeller () accommodated in an impeller chamber () in the housing (), and a motor (), connected to the impeller () via a shaft (), which is accommodated in a motor chamber () in the housing (). The motor () is fixed between walls () of the motor chamber () by means of buffers, with at least one of the buffers being a sealing ring () which separates the shaft () from a passage for cooling air () which, in radial section, extends annularly around the motor ().

Blower unit

A set of parts for a radial fan has a fan wheel (), a main housing part (), and a complementary housing part (). They can be assembled to form a first housing that encloses the fan wheel (). The housing has an inlet opening () and an outlet (). At least one second complementary fan wheels (&#x2033;) (&#x2033;), the shape of which differs from the first fan wheel part (), can be connected to the motor instead of the fan wheel ().

Set of parts and method for producing a radial fan

A radial fan that includes a fan wheel, which can be rotated about an axis and which comprises a base plate and airfoils protruding from the base plate, wherein the airfoils each comprise an upstream edge in a first spacing (r) from the axis and a downstream edge in a second spacing (r) from the axis, and an end wall, which together with the base plate, delimits a flow channel in which the airfoils engage. The cross-sectional area (A) of the flow channel between the upstream edge and the downstream edge passes through a maximum in a third spacing (r) from the axis. The difference between a fourth spacing (r) and a fifth spacing (r), at which the cross-sectional area (A) in each case assumes nearest adjacent minima to the maximum, is at least half of the difference (r&#x2212;r) between the first and the second spacing.

Radial fan

A fan has an impeller () that is equipped with blades (). The blades are configured so that the blade loading of individual blades differs during operation. As a result of this variable blade loading, the frequencies associated with the blade-passing noise (BPF) of the fan can be distributed over a broader frequency spectrum, and thus have a less obtrusive effect.

An axial- or diagonal-fan has a fan wheel () having profiled rotor blades (). Each blade has a suction or intake side (), a portion located forward, with respect to the rotation direction (), and having a leading edge (), and a portion located rearward, with respect to the rotation direction (), and having a trailing edge (). Between said portions, on the intake side () of the respective rotor blade (), a trip or separation edge () is provided, said trip edge having an S-shaped contour in a meridian cross-section.

A fan unit has a fan (). Associated with the fan is an air-guiding tube () through which the fan () transports air, during operation. The air-guiding tube () is connected to at least one carrier tube () for suspension of the fan (). The fan includes a carrier part (). A damping member () is arranged between the carrier part () and the carrier tube () to reduce any structure-borne sound which occurs during operation of the fan ().
