A device for use during an arthroplasty procedure of a joint of a patient, the joint extending between a first joint end of a first bone and an abutting second joint end of a second bone of the patient. The device includes first and second components that can be mated together. The first component includes an attachment fitting configured for disposing over the first joint end of the first bone and a stem extending from the attachment fitting and suitable for extending along an intra-medullary canal of the first bone. The second component includes an end plate configured to mate with the attachment fitting and a longitudinal plate extending from the end plate and configured for disposing along a medial, longitudinal surface of the first bone. The device also includes at least one fastener for coupling the longitudinal plate to the first bone.

Devices and methods for metatarsophalangeal arthroplasty procedures

The present technology relates generally to devices and methods for arthroplasty procedures. In some embodiments, for example, a device is disclosed for use during an arthroplasty procedure of a joint of a patient, the joint extending between a first joint end of a first bone and an abutting second joint end of a second bone of the patient. The device includes an end plate configured and arranged for disposing over the first joint end of the first bone, a longitudinal plate extending from the end plate and configured and arranged for disposing along a medial, longitudinal surface of the first bone, and a stem extending from the end plate and suitable for extending along an intra-medullary canal of the first bone. When installed, at least one fastener extends at least partially through the first bone and couples the longitudinal plate to the first bone.

The improved footwear system of the present application uses composite materials in the design of an advanced modular in-shoe foot orthosis and a new container assembly which includes a high performance energy storage and return element orthosis. The footwear system uses a method of manufacture incorporating a new last model. The advantages of the footwear system over standard issue combat boots include lower weight, improved treatment of lower extremity overuse injuries and reduction of the occurrence of such overuse injuries by protecting at-risk feet with advanced footwear which can be customized to meet the biomechanical needs as well as the specific activities of the wearer.

A method for the design and production of improved pressure reducing therapeutic shoe insoles for a person. The method includes the steps of measuring a three dimensional image of a foot and the distribution of plantar pressures applied by a person's foot being measured for a pressure reducing insole. Selecting a shoe insole outline or template which best fits or corresponds to the shape of a foot being measured. A foot display is generated which combines and aligns the three dimensional foot shape and the plantar pressure distribution. A three dimensional insole display is generated which combines and aligns the foot shape and plantar pressure distribution, and includes modifications based upon selected pressure contour lines identified within the foot display which are above predetermined pressure thresholds.

Method for design and manufacture of insoles

The present invention is a wound healing system and method of use to address the healing of wounds found on a foot of a patient. The wound healing system provides an apparatus and method of protecting and healing foot wounds, especially foot ulcers of diabetic patients. The wound healing system can be used on a wound found on almost any area of the bottom of a foot. The wound healing system includes a method of reducing the mechanical load on a wound, allowing the patient to walk while the system is in use, allowing the patient to access and attend to the foot, allowing different methods of treating a foot wound, and providing a kit with which medical personnel can easily fit the patient with the apparatus.
