Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A group of random access channel opportunities are identified over which to transmit a preamble associated with a random access channel procedure. A preamble sequence group associated with the identified group of random access channel opportunities is determined based on a repetition level associated with the preamble sequence group. At least one downlink message associated with the random access channel procedure is received based on the repetition level.

Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide a method for wireless communications by a wireless device. The wireless device evaluates a plurality of antenna group combinations based on one or more criteria wherein each antenna group combination includes at least two antenna groups of multiple antennas and the one or more criteria involve a first performance value calculated separately for each antenna group in an antenna group combination under evaluation and a second performance value calculated collectively for the at least two antenna groups in the antenna group combination under evaluation. The wireless device selects a subset of the plurality of antenna group combinations, based on the evaluation.

An apparatus is configured to operate on an active DL BWP in a source node, where the active DL BWP is not a default DL BWP associated with the UE, and start a BWP inactivity timer at the UE that triggers a BWP switch from an active DL BWP to the default DL BWP after the BWP inactivity timer expires at a first expiration time. The apparatus is also configured to report a measurement of at least one of the source node or a target node, and start a mobility reception timer based on a condition associated with at least one of the measurement of the source node being below a first signal quality threshold or the measurement of the target node being above a second signal quality threshold.

Mobility enhancements and power saving for user equipment communication

A user equipment (UE) may identify a set of one or more sidelink resources, and the UE may identify wake-up signal occasions associated with the resources. The UE may monitor for wake-up signals during the wake-up signal occasions, and the UE may further monitor the associated set of one or more resources based on receiving a wake-up signal. In some examples, respective sets of one or more sidelink resources may be associated with a number of multiple-input multiple-output layers used for sidelink communications, or may indicate respective bandwidth parts used for monitoring sidelink transmissions.

Power saving techniques for sidelink communication

Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive a configuration for a control resource set (CORESET) that indicates a precoder granularity unit over which a same precoding is used for resources of the CORESET. The precoder granularity unit may be greater than a resource element group bundle of the CORESET and less than contiguous resource blocks of the CORESET. The UE may monitor for one or more physical downlink control channel candidates according to the configuration. Numerous other aspects are provided.

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. Generally, a user equipment (UE) may send a capabilities report to a base station. The capabilities report may include an explicit indication that the UE is capable of receiving a maximum layer radio resource control (RRC) parameter, or may include ambiguous (e.g., multiple) capabilities. The base station may receive the capabilities report, and may determine whether to transmit a maximum layer RRC parameter based on the explicit indication, or the ambiguous capabilities, which indicates a maximum number of layers to be used for subsequent communications. If the UE is capable of receiving the maximum layer RRC parameter, the base station may send the maximum layer RRC parameter to the UE, and may perform wireless communications according to the indicated maximum number of layers.

Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive a configuration indicating a grid of traffic arrival times that includes a plurality of grids associated with respective time intervals. The UE may monitor a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) during a first time interval associated with a first grid, of the plurality of grids. The UE may receive an indication to skip PDCCH monitoring based at least in part on monitoring the PDCCH during the first time interval. The UE may monitor the PDCCH during a second time interval associated with a second grid, of the plurality of grids. The UE may not monitor the PDCCH until a start of the second time interval based at least in part on the indication to skip the PDCCH monitoring. Numerous other aspects are described.

Grid-aligned physical downlink control channel skipping for periodic traffic

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. Generally, the described techniques provide for efficiently reporting channel state information (CSI) with limited overhead. In one aspect, if a user equipment (UE) is configured to transmit data and CSI to a base station periodically, the UE may transmit the CSI when the UE has data to transmit to the base station. In particular, the UE may transmit data and a CSI report during a transmission opportunity if the UE has data to transmit in the transmission opportunity. Otherwise, the UE may suppress transmission of the CSI report. In another aspect, a UE may be configured to transmit CSI to a base station when downlink channel conditions change. In particular, the UE may request to report CSI to the base station when channel conditions change, and the base station may trigger the UE to report the CSI after receiving the request.

Aspects described herein relate to receiving, by a base station, assistance information to facilitate configuring one or more parameters for communicating by a device with the base station, transmitting, by the base station, a signal that does not include the one or more parameters that are based on the assistance information, detecting, by the base station, a degraded feedback for the signal transmitted to the device, and transmitting, by the base station and based on detecting the degraded feedback, an assistance response signal including one or more parameters based on the assistance information.

Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to configurations for new radio (NR) devices with reduced capabilities. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may determine a configuration from stored configuration information, where the configuration specifies a subset of features that NR UE with reduced capabilities is to support. The UE operates within an active bandwidth part (BWP) of a component carrier, wherein the active BWP is a portion of a total bandwidth of the component carrier, determines a configuration for a dynamic channel state information (CSI) measurement gap, the dynamic CSI measurement gap including channel state information (CSI) measurement resources having a frequency domain occupation within the total bandwidth of the component carrier and outside of the active BWP, measures the CSI measurement resources included in the dynamic CSI measurement gap, and transmits a CSI report based on the measured CSI measurement resources.

Bandwidth part (BWP) switching may benefit a wireless communications system. Such BWP switching may include indication of one or more timing parameters used for time domain resource allocation. For example, the timing parameters may be indicated based on an index to a look-up table (e.g., a bit field in a control transmission). In some cases, one or more tables may be configured for a given BWP, and different tables may contain a different number of rows. The size of the bit field indexing the table may in turn depend on the number of rows. When switching from a first BWP to a second BWP, the size of the bit field may be based on the table of the first BWP, but the bit field may index the table of the second BWP. Techniques supporting improved timing parameter management during BWP switching are discussed herein.

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In some cases, a user equipment (UE) may transmit, to a base station, a report indicating a capability of the UE to support symbol level quantization, slot level quantization, or both. The UE may identify that the UE is to utilize the slot level quantization. For instance, the UE may receive control signaling indicating that the UE is to utilize slot level quantization and may perform the identifying based on receiving the control signaling. The UE may receive a first transmission via a first channel and may communicate, responsive to receiving the first transmission, a second transmission via a second channel at a quantized start timing determined in accordance with the slot level quantization.
