The invention relates to an apparatus and a method for producing dynamic range increase (DRI) or a high dynamic range (HDR) pictures, in which differently exposed individual images are combined by image processing to form an HDR or DRI picture. In order to also allow moving objects to be recorded more easily, and to overcome the restrictions relating to lack of mobility of a recording device, the exposure can be carried out by laser radiation containing wavelengths at different intensities.

A laser amplifier arrangement includes an optical pump source and an axially arranged laser oscillator-amplifier configuration pumped by the pump radiation. The laser oscillator-amplifier configuration includes a laser oscillator excitable by a portion of the pump radiation to emit a laser beam, and a laser amplifier that amplifies the laser beam using the pump radiation. The laser oscillator and laser amplifier are arranged in a substantially coaxial or collinear manner relative to a longitudinal axis of the laser oscillator-amplifier configuration. The pump source includes a first beam source for producing a first pump radiation to pump the laser oscillator, a second beam source for producing a second pump radiation for the laser amplifier, and a pump radiation conducting device, by means of which both the first and the second pump radiation can be lead into the laser oscillator-amplifier configuration substantially in the direction of the longitudinal axis for longitudinal pumping.

The invention relates to a multi-sensor laser system for the selective trace analysis of organic material, the multi-sensor system having at least one laser ion mobility spectrometer, an absorption spectrometer and a fluorescent measuring device. The system is characterized in that it is equipped with a device for the simultaneous generation of a common laser beam with different wavelengths and pulses for the simultaneous operation of the laser ion mobility spectrometer, the absorption spectrometer and the fluorescent measuring device. This avoids the disadvantages of the known solutions in prior art and provides an improved solution for the highly sensitive and highly selective trace analysis of organic material, in particular hazardous substances such as explosives and warfare agents in the air.

A method is for selectively removing gaseous pollutants from the ambient air, and a device is for implementing the method. Undesirable emissions may be selectively and completely removed from the ambient air using relatively simple equipment and a small amount of energy. Pollutants contained in the air to be purified are ionized by the action of optical radiation, based on resonant and/or non-resonant single-photon excitation and/or multiple-photon excitation, so that the ionized pollutants are drawn off and removed from the air to be purified, using an electric field. A small portion of the energy necessary for the ionization may also be applied in the form of microwave energy or electric-field energy. The method and device may be used in air-conditioning or other air-circulation systems.

Solid-state laser system for color picture projection

The invention provides a compactly built solid state laser, which can be pumped by high power semiconductor laser diodes and uses two or more laser crystals as the laser gain or amplification media, which crystals can also contain the resonator mirrors. As desired per the invention, linear, monolithic folded or ring-shaped laser resonators can be formed to provide very efficient production of frequency doubled laser radiation.

Compact efficient solid state laser

The present invention provides a laser diode-pumped solid-state laser resonator which can be scaled and pumped longitudinally including in a folded or zig-zag resonator cavity. The resonator employs opposed laser rod crystals paired with pump light diodes in a configuration which ensures good spatial overlap and can permit the simultaneous generation of one or more laser wavelengths. The resonator also has at one end thereof a total reflector, eg. a laser rod crystal or a mirror and at the other end thereof, a partial reflector i.e. a mirror, to resonate and amplify the laser beam in the system and outcouple a portion thereof as desired.

The invention relates to a method for producing a microsystem and from it forming a microsystem laser, which preferably has a vertical structural element by contacting of wafer plates, which carry different functional elements of a system, so that this system on the one hand thus includes heterogeneous functions such as actuators, optics, sensors, cooling systems, micromechanics and electronics, and on the other hand, the wafer carrying these functions permits a relatively homogeneous processing of quite similar functions integrated each on one wafer, so that the complexity of the system is created for the first time for the vertical arrangement of these functions.

The invention provides a laser system with one or several micro-mechnically produced, actively controlled laser mirrors which are provided with an actuation device, so that the rapid manipulation of small laser mirrors is assured. The mirrors are designed so that they permit an economical production in large numbers.
