The disclosure relates to an axle assembly for an electric vehicle. The axle assembly comprises a first electric machine, a second electric machine, and a spur gear unit comprising at least one spur gear stage and a differential gear unit. The at least one spur gear stage is drivingly coupled to the differential gear unit. Moreover, an output shaft of the first electric machine, an output shaft of the second electric machine, and an input shaft of the spur gear stage are formed by a common shaft. Additionally, the differential gear unit comprises a first output flange for drivingly coupling a first wheel to the axle assembly and a second output flange for drivingly coupling a second wheel to the axle assembly. Furthermore, a vehicle comprising such an axle assembly is presented. The differential gear unit is arranged centrally with respect to a vehicle width direction.

The advantage of the invention is that a means for switching a variable compression switch in a connecting rod in a combustion engine can be mounted in a simple and reliable manner.

An assembly for use with an electric motor, including a shaft with on a first end and on a second end a rotatable gear. Each gear is fixedly connected to a first clutch member that can slipping engage a second clutch member extending around the shaft and connected to the shaft in a fixed angular position. A force member is axially situated between the clutch members for moving second clutch members relative to the first clutch members in an axial direction such that the first clutch members and the second clutch members can engage and disengage in a slipping manner at relative circumferential speeds.

Crankshaft and conrod assembly

A camshaft arrangement comprising a camshaft, a vane-type camshaft phaser attached to a first end of the camshaft, a valve actuating arrangement and an oil control valve. The oil control valve comprises an elongated valve member arranged centrally inside the camshaft. The elongated valve member can be adjusted in a longitudinal direction of the camshaft to control the oil flow to the vane-type camshaft phaser by actuation of an actuator. The valve actuating arrangement comprises a first valve actuating configuration attached to the camshaft and a second valve actuating configuration comprising an actuation arm connected to the actuator. The first valve actuating configuration is arranged to be actuated by the actuation arm of the second valve actuating configuration.

A thin film ferroelectric varactor device comprising a substrate layer, a ferroelectric layer structure and an electrode structure is presented. The ferroelectric layer structure comprises a number of ferroelectric layers and a number of intermediate buffer layers arranged in an alternating manner. At least a first and a second layer of the ferroelectric layers have different Curie temperatures, i.e. the dielectric constant of the first ferroelectric layer has a maximum at a temperature which is different from the temperature at which the dielectric constant of the second ferroelectric layer has a maximum.
