Headlamp for motor vehicles

A low beam headlamp for motor vehicles includes an objective made of pressed glass whose one side is formed as aspheric partial surfaces of identical or different aspherity. The partial surfaces are staggered in the direction parallel to the optical axis of the objective and the resulting step has rounded edges. The aspheric partial surfaces adjust light distribution to achieve a desired quality of the light-dark boundary zone projected on the driveway, and provide corrected color fringes of the passing light beam.

Low beam or fog headlamp for motor vehicles

The reflection surface of the reflector is composed of four segments depending on the low-beam light distribution pattern according to the ECE or SAE standard. For the ECE low-beam light distribution pattern, segment is part of a paraboloid of revolution; segment is a parellipsoid; reflector segment is a parellipsoid; and reflector segment is a general paraboloid. The various segments merge continuously and with smooth transitions with one another. For the SAE low-beam light distribution pattern, the reflector segment is a paraboloid of revolution; the reflector segment is a general paraboloid; the reflector segment is a paraboloid of revolution; and the reflector segment is a general paraboloid; in the SAE low-beam light distribution pattern as well, the reflector segments merge with one another continuously and with smooth transitions. The original beam of light produced by the various reflector surfaces of the reflector 1 is substantially equivalent to the low beam as allowed by law and that is suitable for the road surface, so that the dispersion plate can largely be dispensed with, or else can be inclined steeply or need have only a few optical devices.

Motor vehicle headlight

A dimmed headlight for a motor vehicle has a vertical center section defining an ellipse whose outer portion transits into an apex portion. The apex portion defines an inner focal point and an outer focal point and the upper elliptical portion defines a focal point coinciding with said inner focal point and a plurality of outer focal points located on the long axis of the ellipse behind the outer focal point of the apex portion when viewed in the direct of reflected light rays. An objective is arranged before the last one of the outer focal points to collect the reflected light rays. The lower part of the reflector contains a light reflecting member and a diaphragm extending transversely to the long axis in the outer focal point of the apex portion. The light reflecting member is oriented such as to reflect downwardly directed light rays from the light source against an upper part of the apex portion. In this manner, light intensity of reflected beam is increased and an improved illumination of the driveway before the vehicle is obtained.

Dimmed headlight, particularly for motor vehicles

In a headlight for antidazzle lamps for motor vehicles, a reflector and a shield or screen, and an objective form a light beam illuminating a roadway in accordance with law requirements. The lower portion of the reflector forms a paraboloid-ellipsoid-shaped section which generates an additional light beam below the screen and the objective. The additional light beam is received by horizontal scattering prisms on a transparent pane.

A headlight arrangement for vehicles, particularly for power vehicles, comprises a light source with a light reflector forming a light beam which illuminates a roadway with a predetermined light distribution, and at least one adjustable element for changing the light distribution.

Headlight arrangement for vehicles

The reflection surface of a rectangular reflector for a lower beam headlamp is composed of four sectors delimited by transition lines. Two diametrically opposed left and right sectors (11, 12) form a part of a paraboloid projecting a hot light spot. The diametrically opposed upper and lower sectors (13, 14) are part of a paraboloid-ellipsoid defining a parabola in its vertical center section and an ellipsis in its horizontal center section. The latter sectors project a light spot having a broad light dispersion and an increased front field illumination. The reflected light beam corresponds substantially to a dimmed lower light beam to be projected on the road so that a light dispersing glass of the headlamp does not require any optical means for light beam adjustment.

A fog lamp is comprised of a reflector and a pane connected to the reflector. An incandescent lamp is positioned inside the reflector which has a lower portion formed by paraboloid and an upper portion the vertical cross-section of which is formed by ellipse while its horizontal cross-section is formed by parabola. The upper and lower portions have a common focus and a common focal length.

A headlight for dim head lamps of motor vehicles includes a paraboloid reflector which has a glowing spiral, and a transparent pane on the inner surface of which seven fields with differently acting optical means are provided. These fields reflect light rays emitted by the glowing spiral and reflected by predetermined zones of the reflector and form a dimming light.

Headlight for dim head lamps of motor vehicles

A low beam headlamp includes a reflector defining an optical axis and an incandescent filament forming a cylindrical coil whose central axis extends in a horizontal plane through the focal point and forms right angles with the optical axis. The light reflecting surface of the reflector is divided into six zones of which two lateral zones when viewed in the direction of the optical axis form together a paraboloid sector. The upper left hand wall portion and a lower right hand wall portion form together a second paraboloid sector whose central axis is inclined upwards relative to a central axis of the first paraboloid sector. An upper right hand wall portion and a lower left hand wall portion form together a composite paraboloid-ellipsoid sector whose sections taken in parallel vertical planes form parts of parabolas whereas sections taken in parallel horizontal planes form parts of ellipses. The projection of the resulting partial light beams provides a partially overlapping spot of concentrated light and two lateral flat partial beams.

In the headlight of a motor vehicle, a holder of the objective is secured against rotation but is axially displaceable in the housing of the headlight. In order to adjust a width of cut of the objective a rotatable spacer ring, provided with projections cooperating with respective projections of the housing, is positioned between the holder and the end wall of the housing so as to adjust the position of the objective on an optical axis of the headlight.

Headlight for antidazzle lights of motor vehicles

An antidazzle headlamp has a reflector which is asymmetric relative to a horizontal plane passing through an optical axis of the reflector. The contours of the reflector corresponding to vertical sections in parallel planes forming right angles with a horizontal plane passing through the optical axis, form an upper and a lower half ellipse. Both half ellipses in each vertical section have a common large axis which is staggered upward relative to the horizontal plane. In this manner an antidazzle light beam is created which guarantees an intensive and complete illumination of edges of a roadway even at a close range from the motor vehicle.

A headlamp emitting dimmed or antidazzle light beam for motor vehicles, includes a paraboloid reflector including a transversely arranged coiled heating filament and a transparent grooved disc for diffusing or refracting light emitted by the reflector. The light means include eight light refracting fields arranged in diametrically opposed parts. Light rays passing through these fields are emitted from predetermined zones on the reflector so as to produce an improved light distribution of the low beam.

Headlamp, particularly antidazzle headlamp for motor vehicles

The optic axis of a vehicle headlight comprises a reflector, an incandescent helix and a convergent lens. The reflection surface of the reflector is parabolic in the horizontal midplane section and is elliptical in vertical median section. A narrow band of light spreading out laterally is thus produced without supplementary optical components, particularly the diffusion disk or dispersion lens. A sharp light-to-dark boundary is obtained by a diaphragm having an effective straight edge 18 located below the outer ellipse focus, which is coincident with that one of the principal foci of the converging lens which is the nearer to the reflector.
