A sawing rope () with abrasive elements () fixed on a steel rope () with a polymer jacket () is described and claimed. The abrasive elements () are made of a metallic sleeve on which an abrasive layer is deposited by means of electrolytic deposition, by means of sintering or by means of cladding for example laser cladding. Characteristic about this sawing rope () in view of the prior known sawing ropes is that each sleeve shows a connection or closure. Such a connection makes it possible to attach abrasive elements () on the rope without having to thread them on the rope () as is needed when making prior-art sawing ropes. The inventive sawing rope () can therefore be made in long lengths in a very efficient way.

Sawing rope

A light weight electrochromic dimmable mirror stack () is presented that is composed only of solid-state layers () with a total thickness of less than 50 micron and a reflector (). Normally such a kind of layered device suffers from iridescence due to interference of light waves reflecting at the interfaces between the layers of the electrochromic device. The solution provided by the invention is to pattern at least one of the layers () in the device such that the interference effects are smeared out and a more neutral color is obtained. Various possible configurations are described and also the method to produce such a device.

Light weight electrochromic mirror stack

The invention relates to an infra-red reflecting layered structure comprising a transparent substrate layer; a first metal oxide layer; a first silver containing layer, a second metal oxide layer; a second silver containing layer and a third metal oxide layer. The first, second and third metal oxide layer have a refractive index of at least 2.40 at a wavelength of 500 nm. The layered structure according to the present invention laminated on glass has a visual light transmittance (VLT) higher than 70% and a solar heat gain coefficient (SHGC) lower than 0.44. The invention further relates to the use of a layered structure as a transparent heat-mirror.

Infra-red reflecting layered structure

The present invention comprises a multilayer inorganic anti-reflective coating with predetermined optical properties, for application on a flexible substrate. The coating comprises a stack consisting of five material layers, whereby the third layer is a dummy layer consisting of an electrically conductive material, preferably indium-tinoxyde, which provides the coating with an adjustable electrical sheet resistance of between 25 and 2000 &#x3a9;/sq without thereby influencing its optical properties. The anti-reflective coating can be applied onto a flexible substrate (e.g. a polymer film) by means of a single 12 or double pass vacuum magnetron sputtering operation.

Multilayer electrically conductive anti-reflective coating

An improved non-sticking diamond-like nanocomposition includes networks of a-C:H and a-Si:O, wherein the H-concentration is between 85% and 125% of the C-concentration. The composition includes preferably 25 to 35 at % of C, 30 to 40 at % of H, 25 to 30 at % of Si, and 10 to 15 at % of O.
