A seat comprises a seat cushion and a seat back pivotally coupled to the seat cushion. A linkage assembly moves the seat between a seating position and a kneeling position lowered rearwardly and downwardly against a floor. The linkage assembly includes a support bracket, a front leg coupled between the seat cushion and the support bracket, a rear leg extending between an upper end pivotally coupled to the seat back and a lower end pivotally coupled to the support bracket, the rear leg pivotally coupled to the rear portion of the seat cushion, and a control link extending between a first end pivotally coupled to the seat back and a second end pivotally coupled to the support bracket for guiding the seat cushion between the seating and kneeling positions in response to pivotal movement of the seat back between the upright and folded positions.

A seat assembly comprises a seat cushion and a seat back pivotally coupled to the seat cushion for pivotal movement between an upright seating position and a fold flat position overlying the seat cushion. A support bracket is coupled to the seat cushion for mounting the seat assembly to the floor of a vehicle. A pair of front legs extends between a first end pivotally coupled to the seat cushion and an opposite second end pivotally coupled to the support bracket. A pair of rear legs extends between a first end pivotally coupled to the seat cushion and an opposite second end pivotally coupled to the support bracket. A linkage mechanism is operatively coupled between the front legs and the rear legs for actuating rotation of the seat assembly between a seating position spaced above the vehicle floor and a stow position recessed within below the floor.

Stow-in-floor seat assembly

A seat assembly includes a recliner operatively coupled between a seat back and a seat cushion. The recliner is operable between locked and unlocked conditions. Pivoting a recliner handle in a first direction actuates the recliner to the unlocked condition allowing pivotal movement of the seat back between a seating position and fold flat position. Pivoting a walk-in handle in a second direction actuates the recliner to the unlocked condition allowing pivotal movement of the seat back toward an inclined dump position. Pivoting the walk-in handle simultaneously pivots an EZ-entry link from a first position to an intermediate position. With the EZ-entry link in the intermediate position, the pivotal movement of the seat back toward the dump position urges the EZ-entry link from the intermediate position to a second position wherein the EZ-entry link blocks the seat back in the dump position.

Recliner assembly walk-in actuator

A clock spring assembly includes a first member pivotally coupled to a second member about a pivot axis. The first member defines an inner space and the second member also defines an inner space. At least a portion of the second member is disposed within the inner space of the first member. A support member is disposed within the inner space of the second member and is coupled thereto. A pivot shaft is coaxial with the pivot axis and pivotally couples the first and second members together. A clock spring is disposed within the inner space of the second member and is wound around the support member. The clock spring extends between a first end engaged with the support member and a second end engaged with the first member. The clock spring biases the first member to pivot relative to the second member about the pivot axis.

A seat assembly includes a seat cushion and seat back supported above a floor by a rear leg. The seat back is pivotally coupled to a recliner bracket. The seat cushion is selectively pivotally locked relative to the recliner bracket. A disc recliner operatively couples the recliner bracket and rear leg. The disc recliner allows the rear leg to pivot relative to the recliner bracket to move the seat assembly from a design seating position to a slouch position. The seat back is pivoted towards the seat cushion and the recliner allows the rear leg to pivot relative to the recliner bracket, thereby lowering the seat assembly to move the seat assembly to a fold and kneel position. The seat cushion is unlocked relative to the recliner bracket to pivot the seat cushion towards the seat back to move the seat assembly to a stadium position.

Multi-function rear seat structure mechanism

A seat assembly is provided for supporting an occupant above a floor in a vehicle. The seat assembly includes a seat cushion extending between front and rear ends. The front end is adapted to be pivotally coupled to the floor for pivoting the seat cushion between a seating position and a kneeling position. A seat back is pivotally coupled to the rear end of the seat cushion and is adapted to be releasably secured to the floor. A drive link is pivotally coupled between the floor and the seat back. The drive link urges the seat back to pivot relative to the seat cushion as the seat cushion pivots between the seating and kneeling positions thereby maintaining the seat back in a generally vertical orientation.

A seat assembly is provided for supporting an occupant above a floor in an automotive vehicle. The seat assembly includes a seat cushion that is adapted to be pivotally coupled to the floor. The seat assembly also includes a seatback that is operatively coupled to the seat cushion for movement between an upright position and a folded position overlying the seat cushion. A linkage system is operatively coupled between the seatback, seat cushion, and the floor. The linkage system automatically moves the seat cushion downwards and forward and translates the seatback downward and rearward in response to movement of the seatback between the upright position and the folded position.

A seat assembly includes a seat back pivotally coupled to a seat cushion. A front leg is pivotally coupled between the cushion and a floor for providing pivotal movement of the seat cushion between a seating position and a kneel position. A front link is pivotally coupled to the cushion and includes a hook for selectively engaging a striker mounted to the floor. A seat back bracket includes an upper portion operatively coupled to the seat back allowing pivotal movement of the seat back between upright and folded positions, and a lower portion releasably coupled to the floor. The hook is engaged with the striker in the seating position to secure the seat assembly to the floor and released from the striker in response to moving the seat cushion to the kneel position to allow pivotal movement of the seat cushion between the kneel position and a tumble position.

A vehicle seat assembly includes a seat cushion coupled between a pair of risers and a seat back pivotally coupled thereto. A pair of front cushion support links and a pair of rear cushion support links are coupled between the seat cushion and the risers for pivotally supporting and guiding the seat cushion. A fold flat mechanism includes a transfer link operatively coupled between the rear cushion support link and the seat back for transferring pivotal movement of the seat back through the transfer link to each of the front and rear seat cushion support links to automatically move the seat assembly between a seating position wherein the seat back is in an upright position and the seat cushion is spaced above the floor, and a stowed position wherein the seat back is pivoted to a fold flat position and the seat cushion is lying flat against the floor.

A seat assembly is provided for supporting an occupant above a floor in an automotive vehicle. The seat assembly includes a seat cushion that is adapted to be pivotally coupled to the floor. The seat assembly also includes a seatback that is operatively coupled to the seat cushion for movement between an upright position and a folded position overlying the seat cushion. A linkage system is operatively coupled between the seatback, seat cushion, and the floor. The linkage system automatically moves the seat cushion downward and forward and translates the seatback downward and rearward in response to movement of the seatback between the upright position and the folded position.

An automotive seat adjustment assembly adjusts a relative position of a seat cushion. The adjustment assembly comprises at least one front mounting bracket adapted for supporting a forward end of the seat cushion and at least one rear mounting bracket adapted fort supporting a rearward end of the seat cushion. At least one front seat support is movably mounted to the front mounting bracket and adapted for mounting to the forward end of the seat cushion. The front seat support is movable between a first position with the seat cushion in a lowered orientation and a second position with the seat cushion in a raised orientation. At least one rear seat support movably mounted to the rear mounting bracket and adapted for mounting to the rearward end of the seat cushion. The rear support is movable between a first position with the seat cushion in a lowered orientation and a second position with the seat cushion in a raised orientation. At least one drive plate interconnecting one of the front and rear mounting brackets with a corresponding front and rear support. A drive arm having first and second ends, the first end mounted to the drive plate and is movable between actuated and non-actuated positions for moving the corresponding front and rear seat support between the first and second positions to move the seat cushion between the lowered and raised orientations. A cam connected to the second end of the drive arm for selectively moving the drive arm between the actuated and non-actuated positions to move the front and rear supports and the seat cushion.
