A recorded image frame is distorted on the printing plate when image information or image data from a computer is recorded in the form of band strips, with a plurality of image elements dotted on each widthwise dotted line of the band, on a printing plate wound over a drum. The present invention permits an undistorted recording on the printing plate by an arrangement which includes a printing plate wound around a drum in the form of a right circular cylinder, an exposing assembly to record image information in the form of a band strip on the printing plate by means of light beam, a moving mechanism to move the exposing assembly in relation to the drum in the direction of the drum axis--by one band width per revolution of the drum--and a circuit to generate and incline distortion offsetting signal in a sawtoothed pattern having the cycle synchronized with that of the rotation of the drum with the initial writing position on the band as starting point. Under this arrangement, this incline distortion offsetting signal is applied to the exposing assembly to gradually move the light beam in the direction opposite to the moving direction of moving mechanism--by one band width per revolution of the drum. This process is repeated until the whole printing image is recorded.

A process for the continusous preparation of Beta-carotene together with an emulsifier by briefly heating Beta-carotene together with an emulsifier to give a homogeneous solution, rapidly cooling the latter to below 100.degree. C. by adding water, and subsequently adjusting to the required final concentration of Beta-carotene, comprises pumping a suspension, which has been preheated from 20.degree. to 80.degree. C., of 1 to 40% by weight of Beta-carotene in an emulsifier through a heating coil located in a heat transfer oil, where the solubilization mixture is at from 120.degree. to 180.degree. C. and the residence time is from 10 to 300 seconds, and subjecting the homogenous solution to turbulent mixing in a mixing chamber with an amount of water at from 10.degree. to 80.degree. C. to result in a solubilizate which contains from 0.5 to 6% by weight of Beta-carotene and is, if necessary, diluted to the required final concentration.

A process for the preparation of .beta.-carotene micellar solutions, wherein a non-ionic emulsifier which is suitable for the preparation of micellar solutions is heated at from 160.degree. to 180.degree. C. and a total of from 20 to 30% by weight, based on the emulsifier, of .beta.-carotene is introduced in the presence of a conventional antioxidant, the hot homogeneous mixture is cooled rapidly to below 100.degree. C. by adding water, and the formulation is brought to the desired concentration of from 3 to 6% by weight by adding further water, and the .beta.-carotene micellar solutions obtained by this process. The non-ionic emulsifiers used in this process have an HLB value of from 12 to 16, and are in particular oxyethylated triglycerides of fatty acids of 12 to 18 carbon atoms containing 20-60 oxyethylene units. Parenteral admininstration of the stable .beta.-carotene micellar solutions according to the invention to cattle relieves the disturbed estrus cycle and impaired fertility caused by .beta.-carotene deficiency.
