A dispensing closure molded with polypropylene or other suitable plastic material having a base cap with a dispensing orifice in its top and a lid hinged to the cap for closing the orifice. The lid has a low profile with its skirt conforming with the cap skirt in its closed position so that the lid cannot be grasped with sufficient force to open the lid. An arcuate slot in the cap top allows inward deflection of the cap skirt providing access to the bottom of the lid for swinging the lid open.

Child resistant dispensing closure

A tamper indicating closure has a hermetically sealed membrane which prevents contamination. The membrane is held within a closure cap for easy application to a container neck prior to being heat welded to the container. A disc secured to the membrane together with a pull ring serves to sever the membrane and open the sealed container. A lid functions to cover the membrane and disc until the seal is to be broken and thereafter to close the container when not in use. The only way to gain access to the contents, i.e. to the interior of the container, is by tearing the membrane. The means for tearing the membrane substantially covers the membrane except for a very thin edge portion thereof adjacent the spout of the container. This insures that tearing for the purpose of opening will substantially completely remove the membrane and also insures that access to the membrane for tampering purposes is very difficult.

Tamper indicating dispenser closure

A dispensing closure molded with a polypropolyene or other plastic material having a base cup with a dispensing orifice in its top and a lid hinged to the cap for closing the orifice. The lid is recessed in the base cap and has projecting tabs which are pushed to release detent locks so that the lid may be swung to an open, dispensing position. Arcuate slots through the lid, in line with the tabs, allow sufficient deflection of the lid to unlock the the detents.

A tamper indicating closure for a container has a center section provided with a ring which may be pulled to open the container. The pull out center section forms part of an insert which is held in position by a cap base. The insert is interposed between the cap base and the neck of the container so as to form a seal between the cap base and the container. The insert can be formed of a softer more easily torn material than the cap base. The cap base can also serve as a pour nozzle for easy pouring, and also will cooperate with the cap lid to obtain a secured closure of the container once the center section of the insert is removed.

Tamper indicating closure

A child resistant dispensing closure molded with polypropylene or other suitable plastic material having a base cap with a dispensing orifice in its top and a lid hinged to the cap for closing the orifice. The lid has a low profile with its skirt conforming with the cap skirt in its closed position so that the lid cannot be grasped at a random position with sufficient force to open the lid. An arcuate slot of at least 180.degree. in the lid top permits squeezing pressure to be applied to the lid skirt at two diametrically opposed points to effect displacement of a portion of the lid providing access to the bottom of the lid for swinging the lid open.

Child resistant closure

A container neck insert for providing a safety feature upon removal of a conventional covering cap. The insert is in the form of a plastic disk molded with a portion which engages a recess in the container neck and is retained therein. In one form the safety feature provides tamper indication by using a circumferential frangible opening line and a pull tab for removal of a portion of the disk. In another form, the safety feature provides child-resistant access to the container by acting as a pivoting door having a closing feature when the opening force is removed.

Safety container neck insert

A threaded safety dispensing closure and container package in which the initial threading on of the closure to the product filled container affixes the closure to the container so that it cannot be removed, requiring dispensing through the dispensing orifice in the closure top and inhibiting refilling of the container. The container neck terminates in an annular end wall having a plurality of circumferentially spaced ratchet teeth which coact with the top of the closure cap allowing threading on but locking the cap to the container against unthreading removal. Tamper indication can be provided by an integrally molded insert across the dispensing orifice which is removed by a pull tab.

Safety dispensing closure-container package

A tamper indicating package incorporates a closure, at least a portion of which is transparent, and a seal which is bonded to the container so that the seal is visible through the closure. In some embodiments the closure is fastened also to the seal so that any movement between the closure and container results in fracture of the seal indicating tampering.

Tamper indicating closure with adhesive-attached gasket

A tamper indicating closure for use with a container having a neck with an opening in which at least a portion of the closure is transparent. A destructible seal is bonded to the container neck providing a hermetic seal which is visible through the closure to indicate package integrity or tampering. In some embodiments, a transparent insert member is provided through which the seal element is visible, and after removal of the seal element, the insert member serves to reseal the closure to the container neck. In some embodiments, access is obtained to the container by unthreading and removing the closure from the container neck and puncturing the destructible seal element. In other embodiments, the seal element is bonded to the flat closure top or the insert so that the seal element is fractured upon initial opening movement of the closure to remove it from the container neck.

Tamper indicating transparent closure

A safety dispensing closure and container package in which the closure is affixed to the container so that it cannot be removed, requiring dispensing through a dispensing orifice in the closure top and inhibiting refilling of the container. An internal bead on the closure skirt engages a groove in the container neck and the closure skirt extends into close proximity with a shoulder on the container neck to prevent attempts of prying removal. Tamper indication can also be provided by an integrally molded insert across the dispensing orifice which is removed by a pull tab.

A method of constructing a closure and applying it to a container to provide a hermetically sealed, tamper-indicating package which can be easily opened without danger of contaminating the container contents by fragmentation of the sealing element. The sealing element is formed as a laminated liner disk haivng an inner foil layer and an outer tough thermoplastic layer. A heat sealing layer allows the liner disk to be hermetically sealed to the container by induction heating after the closure is attached to the container. A frangible opening line is created by melting through the thermoplastic layer and heat sealing layer to the metal foil layer.

Tamper indicating hermetic seal

YA tamper indicating dispensing closure for attachment to an originally filled container to indicate prior opening or tampering. The closure has a base cap with a dispensing orifice therethrough and an upstanding retention sleeve. A lid is hinged to the base cap and has a tamper indicating disk attached to it by a pin extending through the lid. In its originally packaged condition, the pin extends into the retention sleeve with the lid closed. A frangible area on the disk around the pin breaks upon initial opening providing evidence of tampering or prior opening.

An adjustable dispensing closure including a body member provided with an opening and a lid member formed with a plurality of apertures of different sizes. The lid member is rotatable relative to the body member to permit regulated dispensing of the contents of the container. The lid member is held relative to the closure body by complementary annular rings for rotation through a full 360 degrees between closed and selected open positions.

Adjustable dispensing closure

A dispensing closure having a base cap with a top containing a dispensing orifice and a skirt adapted to be attached to a container so that dispensing of the container contents can take place only through the cap orifice. The orifice is sealed with an integrally molded removable disc having a spiral weakening groove which defines a tear strip. Lifting a pull ring attached to the tear strip removes the sealing disc as a spiral strip so that any attempt to hide a previous partial opening by pushing the lifted portion of the strip back in the plane of the disc will be easily detected. A lid attached to the base cap provides easy access to the seal for detecting tampering and removal for use as well as acting to close the orifice after removal of the sealing disc.

A tamper indicating dispensing closure having a body member forming a dispensing passage at one end and an opening to receive the neck of a container at the other end in which the dispensing passage and opening in the neck are in communication with each other but are closed by a breakable foil seal element permanently attachable to both the closure and the container with which the closure is to be used. One end of the cylindrical body member of the closure is closed by a removable cap which gives access to the seal so that it can be ruptured to afford dispensing of the contents of the container.
