Balloon dilation assembly with AV node/HIS bundle sensing-stimulation system

An implantable sealing device is disclosed herein and includes an elongated elastic member having distal and a proximal ends, at least one sealing element including braiding having outside and inside faces. The braiding can include of a plurality of fine threads of a memory metal alloy and wherein at least one face of the braiding is coated by a membrane. The braiding can also include a fixing member positioned at one of the distal and proximal ends of the elastic member and being positioned opposite to the braiding.

Implantable sealing device

A method for sealing a tissue opening includes inserting a trocar tube including a folded sealing device disposed within the trocar, and guiding the trocar tube through an opening in a myocardium into a patient's ventricle, the sealing device can include an elongated elastic member having a distal and a proximal end, a proximal umbrella shaped braiding extending radially from the elongated elastic member, the proximal braiding being positioned at the proximal end of the elastic member, wherein the proximal braiding includes a proximal disc disposed therein having a proximal disc thread disposed therethrough such that a user can pull the proximal braiding, and a distal umbrella shaped braiding extending radially from the elongated elastic member and being positioned at the distal end of the elastic member opposite to the proximal braiding.

A balloon dilation assembly for use in balloon valvuloplasty is disclosed, which includes at least three outer balloons arranged around a central balloon and fixed to the central balloon, wherein each balloon has a supply tube for inflation and flow channels are provided between each adjacent pair of outer balloons, whereby at least one of the outer balloons is shorter in length than the remaining outer balloons and the central balloon.

Transmyocardial insertion unit and its use

The invention relates to a monitoring and regulation device configured for implantation in the heart, including at least one pressure sensor located in a distally arranged section of a shaft and a regulation device configured for regulating blood flow and blood pressure. The regulation device includes the shaft, a first pressure valve, a second pressure valve, and a sliding element. The pressure sensor is configured to output data that is used to monitor vital parameters of a cardiovascular system. The shaft is tubular with a lumen that extends axially there through. The shaft has distal and proximal sections and a central section, wherein the distal and proximal sections are disc-shaped extended, thus forming a first double disc at the distal section and a second double disc at the proximal section. The central section links the first and second double discs. The central section of the shaft has an opening. The first pressure valve is disposed in the opening in the central section of the shaft. The second pressure valve is located in the lumen in the proximal section of the shaft. The sliding element is housed inside the lumen. The sliding element has an axially movable and rotatable cylindrical piston and a piston rod, wherein pushing the piston towards the distal section of the shaft or rotating the piston results in a partial or complete closing of the opening for controlling the blood flow.

Monitoring and regulation device configured for monitoring and regulating cardiac parameters

The invention relates to a bipolar myocardial pacemaker electrode () consisting of a plug (), a supply line (), a cathode (), an anode (), surgical thread () and a fixation member (), whereby the electrode () has an internal lumen and is freely movable on the thread (); the thread () can be guided through the inner lumen of the electrode including the supply line and plug thereof, and distally supports the fixation member () in the form of a knot; the supply line () is externally insulated and has a distal cathode pole () tangentially arranged on the surface of the heart in the heart tissue (myocardium) in the usage position, wherein the cathode pole consists of a conically tapering coil and the supply line () has an anode pole () arranged proximally underneath the heart in the usage position.

Myocardial heart pacemaker electrode

An electrode assembly for temporary cardioversion/defibrillation and/or for temporary stimulation of the heart after open heart surgery consisting of two defibrillation electrodes with at least one indifferent pole each and an elastic section is disclosed. Each defibrillation electrode in the operating position is positioned on the right and left atrium. The defibrillation electrodes each distally comprise a fixation member and each end in a protective tube to protect the epicardium at a proximal end. The fixation members are elastic and enable reversible fastening of the defibrillation electrodes in the pericardium on the right and left side. The protective tubes are preferably fed together into a guide tube, where the guide tube is slidable along the longitudinal axis. The stimulation electrodes (different electrode poles) for stimulation of the atria are designed appropriately together with the defibrillation electrode in one piece.

Temporarily implantable electrode assembly for the stimulation and intracardiac cardioversion/defibrillation of the heart following surgery

The invention relates to an implantable stent which can be used in the region of an arterial constriction said region being expandable by a balloon catheter. The stent is expandable and can be widened in a radial direction by virtue of the fact that the wall of the stent is formed at least in sections thereof from permanently deformable metal struts, whereby the stent consists of more than one tubular segment (), wherein the segment () consist of metal struts () and wherein in each case two adjacent segments () are connected to each other by at least one pair of eyelets () and (), where the eyelets () and () are connected to each other by being embedded in plastic and in this manner the segments () are held together, and where at least one of the metal struts () has a predetermined breaking point in the middle section of the segment (), which predetermined breaking point is produced as a result of the fact that two strut sections () and () have eyelets (), () respectively, which are connected to each other by being embedded in plastic, so that when they exceed a defined radial expansion, the metal struts () open as a result of the predetermined breaking point.

An implantable epicardial electrode assembly comprises electrode poles fixed on the heart having a large surface area and being multipolar and can at the same time be used as sensing and stimulating electrodes, wherein the electrode assembly has the shape of a tennis racket or is circular, elliptical, hexagonal, rectangular, oakleaf-shaped, star-shaped or cloverleaf-shaped and comprises at least two electrode poles which are arranged over a large surface area, and a further electrode arrangement which comprises at least one electrode pole and which is arranged between the large surface area electrode poles and further comprises a fixing element, wherein the defibrillation can take place between the mutually insulated poles of the electrodes, and wherein the stimulation of the heart can take place between one of the electrode poles and a pole of the electrode arrangement.

Implantable epicardial electrode assembly

An implantable electrode device designed for heart stimulation and/or cardioversion/defibrillation in connection with a pacemaker or a defibrillator. The electrode device comprises a large-surface area indifferent reference electrode pole permanently implanted in the atrial septum and in electrical communication with a pacemaker or defibrillator. The electrode pole is made from biocompatible metal braiding and has a tube like opening. The electrical communication is positioned from the pacemaker/defibrillator via the right atrium of the heart through the indifferent electrode pole into the left atrium via the opening. Thus allowing electrical pulses to be delivered to the electrode pole and stimulating the heart.

Implantable indifferent reference electrode pole

A cardiac electrode arrangement has one or several heart electrodes arranged on the exterior surface of a heart or attached to the heart from the outside and/or arranged with a pole in the cardiac tissue. The electrodes, which can be fixed in the operating position by an anchor, run to an implanted heart pacemaker. For positioning and affixing the anchor, a tool is used that is designed as a rod or stylet and acts on an attachment site of the anchor, whereby the anchor can be pushed into or through the myocardium. The anchor is, at the same time, attached to a tension element or thread, over which the electrode, which has an inner guide channel that accommodates the tension element or thread, can be moved in a fitted and controlled manner. In the operating position, the electrode can be connected to the tension element or thread located in the guide channel.

Balloon catheter

An epicardial mapping electrode suitable for temporarily mapping and/or stimulating the left ventricle after a cardiac surgery. The epicardial mapping electrode comprising a flexible tube having a proximal and a distal end and a longitudinal structure therebetween. The tube has at least one lumen. A movable insulated electrode lead arranged inside the lumen, the lumen together with the electrode lead extends longitudinally through said longitudinal structure, the electrode lead has at its distal end an electrical pole. The flexible tube has along the electrode lead a number of openings facing the surface of the heart said openings providing contact between the myocardial tissue and the electrical pole.
