The present invention relates to a method for obtaining crystalline 2'-fucosyllactose from a 2&#x2032;-FL raw material, which contains 2&#x2032;-FL as a main constituent and at least 0.5% by weight, frequently at least 1% by weight, in particular at least 2% by weight, more particularly at least 5% by weight, and especially at least 8% by weight,based on the total amount of mono-and oligosaccharides in the raw material, of one or more mono- or oligosaccharides different from 2&#x2032;-FL, where the method comprises a)providing a solution of the 2&#x2032;-FL raw material in water, which does not contain more than 10% by weight, preferably not more than 7% by weight, more preferably not more than 5% by weight of organic solvents, based on the total amount of water; b) effecting the crystallization of 2&#x2032;-FL from the solution provided in step a) by inducing conditions of a controlled super saturation in the solution; and c) separating crystalline 2&#x2032;-FL from the mother liquor, and where during controlled supersaturation in step b) not more than 10% by weight, preferably not more than 7% by weight, more preferably not more than 5% by weight of organic solvents are present, based on the total amount of water present during step b).

Method for obtaining crystalline 2'-fucosyllactose

The present invention relates to means and methods for producing an amide compound from a nitrile compound with less acrylic acid as by-product using a Nitrile hydratase (NHase) and Amidase producing microorganism as biocatalyst. Also provided is an aqueous amide compound obtained by the methods of the invention as well as a composition comprising acrylamide or polyacrylamide as well as a dried microorganism exhibiting a NHase/Amidase activity ratio of at least 400 when being brought into contact with a nitrile compound to convert said nitrile compound into an amide compound.

Method for producing an amide

The present invention relates to methods for preparing an aqueous acrylamide solution having a low acrylic acid concentration. In addition, the present invention relates to methods for reducing the acrylic acid concentration of an aqueous acrylamide solution. The methods involve a bioconversion of acrylonitrile to acrylamide in the presence of a biocatalyst, wherein during the bioconversion the content of acrylonitrile is maintained at 0.3 w/w % or more referred to the total weight of the composition in the reactor. Also provided is an aqueous acrylamide solution which is obtained by the methods of the present invention. Furthermore, the present invention is related to an acrylamide homopolymer or copolymer obtained by polymerizing the acrylamide of the aqueous solution.

The invention pertains to processes to produce dry biomass of pyripyropene producer organisms, processes to obtain pyripyropenes from such dry biomass, as well as to processes to produce compounds of Formula III and/or Formula IV and/or Formula V from the pyripyropenes obtained from the dry biomass. The invention does further pertain to the dry biomass itself, as well as processes using said dry biomass to obtain pyripyropenes for the production of compounds of Formula III and/or Formula IV and/or Formula V, including processes using said dry biomass to obtain pyripyropenes or compounds of Formula III and/or Formula IV and/or Formula V in order to produce pest control compositions, in particular insecticides, comprising such compounds.
