The present invention relates to a heterophasic polypropylene composition with an improved property profile, e.g. improved balance of toughness, softness and haze, comprising a heterophasic propylene copolymer and a copolymer of propylene and 1-hexene.

Blown films, especially monolayer blown films, with an improved property profile, the blown films comprising at least 95.0 wt % of a specific heterophasic propylene copolymer (TERHECO).

Blown film

Provided are multilayer polymer films comprising LLDPE, LDPE and a random propylene-ethylene copolymer which films suitable for packaging applications and are mechanically recyclable, and to recycled polymer compositions formed by mechanically recycling such films. The recycled polymer compositions may be combined with a polypropylene random copolymer and used to form further polymer films suitable for packaging applications applications.

Recyclable polymer films and compositions

The present invention relates to a multilayer film comprising at least two outer layers and at least one core layer, at least one of the outer layers comprises component a1), the other outer layer comprises component a1) or a2). Component a1) is a terpolymer of propylene, ethylene and one C4 to C10 α-olefin; having ethylene content in the range of 0.1 to 8.0 wt.-%, C4 to C10 α-olefin content in the range of 0.1 to 16.0 wt.-%, and a melt flow rate MFR0.5 to 12.0 g/10 min. Component a2) is a polypropylene having a melting temperature of at least 150° C. The core layer comprises a heterophasic propylene copolymer b) having MFRof 0.3 to 20.0 g/10 min, XCS content of 16.0 to 50.0 wt.-%, and comonomer content of 11.5 to 21.0 mol-%, comprising a matrix being a random propylene copolymer b1) and an elastomeric propylene copolymer b2) dispersed in said matrix.

Multilayer film with improved properties

The present invention is directed to a multilayer structure. More specifically, the present invention is directed to a polypropylene multilayer extrusion laminate structure which provides sufficient thermal resistance and mechanical properties, and which multilayer structure can be recycled. The present invention is further directed to a process for producing the multilayer structure by an extrusion lamination process.

Multilayer structure

The present invention relates to a multilayer blown film including at least one skin layer (A) including a Ziegler Natta catalyzed heterophasic propylene copolymer (HECO) and one inner layer (B) including a metallocene catalyzed propylene based random copolymer (PRC), and optionally one core layer (C) including either a Ziegler Natta catalyzed heterophasic propylene copolymer (HECO) or a metallocene catalyzed propylene based random copolymer (PRC).

A process for collation shrink wrapping an object that may include a number of individual containers, preferably a number of substantially identical containers. The process may include the steps of (i) obtaining a binding tape that is a film uniaxially oriented in the machine direction (MD) and wrapping the tape around the object, (ii) sealing the ends of the now wrapped binding tape (i.e., to form a loop), (iii) obtaining a collation shrink film that may include a multimodal linear low density polyethylene (LLDPE), the film being a stretched film that is uniaxially oriented in the machine direction (MD) in a draw ratio of at least 1:3, (iv) wrapping the collation shrink film around the object of step (ii), (v) heating the wrapped object of step (iv) such that the tape shrinks in its machine direction and the collation shrink film shrinks in its machine direction.

A multilayer machine direction oriented film comprising at least an (A) layer and (B) layer, at least one of said (A) layer or (B) layer comprising at least 50 wt % of a multimodal linear low density polyethylene (LLDPE) having a density of 905 to 940 kg/mand an MFRof 0.01 to 20 g/10 min and comprising a lower molecular weight (LMW) component and a higher molecular weight (HMW) component; wherein said LMW component is an ethylene homopolymer and said HMW component is an ethylene polymer of ethylene with at least two C4-12 alpha olefins; wherein said film is a stretched film which is uniaxially oriented in the machine direction (MD) in a draw ratio of at least 1:3 and has a film thickness of at least 40 microns (after stretching) and wherein said film does not comprise a layer in which more than 50 wt % of said layer comprises a polymer component having a melting point (Tm) of 100&#xb0; C. or less.

Films

A process for collation shrink wrapping an object that may include a number of individual product containers, preferably substantially identical product containers. The process may include the steps of (i) obtaining a collation shrink film that may include a multimodal linear low density polyethylene (LLDPE), the film being a stretched film that is uniaxially oriented in the machine direction (MD) in a draw ratio of at least 1:3, (ii) wrapping the object in the film, and (iii) heating the object wrapped in the film in order to collation shrink the film around the object.

The present invention relates to a blown film made of a composition comprising a) a propylene heterophasic copolymer (A) with a matrix propylene polymer and an ethylene-propylene-rubber characterized in that the film has been monoaxially oriented in the machine direction with a stretch ratio of 1:1.1 to 1:10, to a process for making such a film, to the use of said composition in making such a film, and to an article comprising such a film.

Polypropylene film with improved balance of mechanical properties

The invention relates to a process for producing a polypropylene film having a small dynamic coefficient of friction (CoF) and to a film obtained by this process. The invention further relates to the use of a polypropylene composition in a film forming process in order to reduce the required amount of slip agent for achieving a certain CoF and, alternatively, to the use of a polypropylene composition in a film forming process in order to reduce the required storage time for achieving a certain CoF.

Process for producing polypropylene film

The invention refers to polypropylene blown films which are characterised by excellent optical and mechanical properties. The polypropylene composition used for the films contains nucleating agents.

Polyolefin fibers and polyolefin yarns of high strength and elongation and textile fabrics produced therefrom, which consist of modified propylene polymers, unmodified propylene polymers and adjuvants, are produced by melting the polyolefin mixtures in the extruder, transferring the melt by extrusion pumps to the spinnerets and drawing off the extruded filaments by high-speed galettes and/or winders.
