The invention relates to nucleic acid probes, nucleic acid probe libraries, and kits for detecting, classifying, or quantitating components in a complex mixture of nucleic acids, such as a transcriptome, and methods of using the same. The invention also relates to methods of identifying nucleic acid probes useful in the probe libraries and to methods of identifying a means for detection of a given nucleic acid.

Probes, libraries and kits for analysis of mixtures of nucleic acids and methods for constructing the same

The present application concerns a new in vitro method for assessing the risk that a subject suffers from prostate cancer. A method wherein the at least two selected miRs are: hsa-miR-30c-5p, hsa-miR-222-3p, and hsa-miR-24-3p is preferred. The application also concerns a kit of parts to perform the in vitro method.

MicroRNA-based method for early detection of prostate cancer in urine samples

The present application concerns a new in vitro method for assessing the prognosis of a prostate cancer patient, comprising measuring the expression level of at least two miRs selected from group of miRs consisting of: miR-106a-5p, miR-10b-5p, miR-133a-3p, mi R-152-3p, miR-185-5p, miR-193a-5p, miR-221-3p, miR-23a-3p, miR-30d-3p, miR-326, mi R-374b-5p, miR-615-3p and mi R-625-3p in a RNA sample from prostate cells obtained from said patient, wherein a changed expression level of said at least 2 miRs, as compared to a reference expression profile, is indicative of the prognosis of said prostate cancer patient.

Microrna-based method for assessing the prognosis of a prostate cancer patient

The invention relates to ribonucleic acids, probes and methods for detection, quantification as well as monitoring the expression of mature microRNAs and small interfering RNAs (siRNAs). The present invention relates to labeling kits containing novel non-natural nucleotide monomers and to methods of making and using such compounds. The invention further relates to a method of detecting the presence of a nucleic acid, e.g., RNA, of interest in a sample, the method having the following steps: providing the sample; ligating a nucleic acid of interest with a labeling reagent according to the instant invention; providing a nucleic acid array having probes directed to the nucleic acid of interest; hybridizing the labeled nucleic acid fragments to said nucleic acid array; and determining the extent of hybridization to said probes to determine the presence of the nucleic acid of interest.
