A plurality of tilted pin-mirrors imbedded between an inner surface and an outer surface of a combiner, where the plurality of tilted pin-mirrors are configured to reflect the guided image light towards the eye box, and wherein the plurality of pin-mirrors include one or more gaps between them wherein the one or more gaps allow the passage of an ambient light through the combiner towards the eye box.

AR headset with an improved display

A near-eye display system includes a display panel to display a near-eye lightfield frame including an array of elemental images and an eye tracking component to track a pose of a user's eye. The system further includes a de-magnification optical element and a rendering component to adjust the rendering of foveal image content in the integral lightfield frame based on the pose of the user's eye. A method of operation of the near-eye display system includes determining, using an eye tracking component of the near-eye display system, a first pose of a user's eye and decreasing a magnification level at which foveal image content is to be displayed within the foveal field of view for the first pose. The decreased magnification level of the foveal image content is perceptible at a resolution higher than a native resolution of the display panel.

Eye tracked lens for increased screen resolution

Systems and methods are provided for discerning the intent of a device wearer primarily based on movements of the eyes. The system may be included within unobtrusive headwear that performs eye tracking and controls screen display. The system may also utilize remote eye tracking camera(s), remote displays and/or other ancillary inputs. Screen layout is optimized to facilitate the formation and reliable detection of rapid eye signals. The detection of eye signals is based on tracking physiological movements of the eye that are under voluntary control by the device wearer. The detection of eye signals results in actions that are compatible with wearable computing and a wide range of display devices.

Systems and methods for biomechanically-based eye signals for interacting with real and virtual objects

Technologies are generally described for employing proximity sensing mechanisms in augmented reality (AR) systems. Sensors strategically placed on AR eyeglasses in locations such as right and/or left arms, bridge, or flip-up feature of the eyeglasses may be used to detect AR eyeglass usage for power management and/or to provide user interface elements like volume control, display controls, user input, and comparable ones. According to some examples, the sensors may be mechanical sensors, capacitive sensors, optical sensors, inductive sensors, magnetic sensors, and/or similar components.

Augmented reality proximity sensing

Technologies are generally presented for identifying inconsistent usage of computing devices in a multiple computing device environment. When software or hardware are compromised or faulty, the results of self-monitoring may be unreliable for determining inconsistent usage arising from a security breach, a hardware fault, or a software error. Computing devices may be independently monitored for physical attributes, such as temperature, vibration, emitted noise, etc., and such attributes may be compared to expected values based on computing load, network load, or the like. When the monitored and expected physical attribute values differ or conflict, possible inconsistent usage may be identified so that appropriate measures may be taken to rectify the situation.

Detection of unexpected server operation through physical attribute monitoring

Technologies are generally described for outputting content from multiple devices. In some examples, a method includes receiving content from a first content output device at a processor. In some examples, the method further includes recording at least a portion of the content by the processor. In some examples, the method further includes determining an identifier of the content by the processor based on the portion. In some examples, the method further includes determining a source of the content by the processor based on the identifier. In some examples, the method further includes requesting that the content be sent from the source to a second content output device.

Outputting content from multiple devices

An interactive media device. The device has an area for receiving a document and a sensor network adjacent to the area. The sensor network has a first region adjacent to the document and responsive to user proximity to the first region. The sensor network has a second region that is responsive to markers disposed on or embedded in the document. The device has a processor coupled to the sensor network and able to receive signals from the sensor network indicating capacitance change in the first and second regions based on the received signals. The processor is thus able to identify a location in the document based on the first and second received signals.

Interactive device using capacitive sensor array for joint page identification and page location determination

A peripheral interface device for determining the color of a surface, where the surface color may then be used to determine device position and identify objects. Embodiments provide a device capable of directing different colors of light (e.g., red, green and blue) onto a surface and measuring relative intensities of the reflected colors to determine the color of the surface. The reflection and measurement of each color may be performed separately. Alternatively, composite-colored light may be directed at the surface, which may then be filtered to extract the different colors and enable measurement of their relative intensities. As such, the device can detect regions of a given color and regions of different shades of the same color, which may then be used to determine the position of the device and/or identify an object.

Peripheral interface device for color recognition

A stylus for an electrographic position location apparatus is disclosed. In one embodiment, the stylus includes a writing element that is retractable. The stylus may have a proximal end and a distal end. A conductive annular structure may be at the proximal end of the stylus.

Detecting information relating to a medium in an interactive media device. The device includes a surface able to receive the medium and a sensor network embedded within the surface. The sensor network includes a configuration able to detect medium information. The device has a processor able to issue signals to the sensor network and to receive signals indicating capacitance change caused by proximity of a region of the medium to the sensor network. Thus, the processor is able to detect medium information based on the capacitance change.
