An apparatus for the mixing conveying of fluids with heat exchange includes a housing with installations that each include a first hollow structure for conveying a first fluid while a second fluid is able to flow around the first hollow structure. The second fluid flows along a main flow direction which is substantially disposed along the longitudinal axis of the housing. A second hollow structure is provided through which the first fluid can flow and which can be flowed around by the second fluid with the second hollow structure being arranged cross-wise with respect to the first hollow structure. The hollow structures have a flow cross-section with a first width Band a second width B, with B/Bbeing larger than one and Boriented normally to a plane which contains the longitudinal axis of the housing or a line parallel to the longitudinal axis and an axis of the hollow structure.

Apparatus for the heat-exchanging and mixing treatment of fluid media

The static mixer for a low viscosity fluid contains inbuilt devices effective for mixing, which are arranged in a pipe or in a container conducting the fluid. The inbuilt devices include structure elements in the form of flat, folded or curved sheet metal-like flow obstacles to form primary flow obstacles to achieve a flow of the first order. The structure elements are geometrically modified at surfaces and/or at edges so that local flows of the second order can be induced which are superimposed on the flow of the first order and so improve the mixing quality. Radial and axial inhomogeneities in the fluid are namely better compensated than by the flow of the first order.

Static mixer

The pipe member ( ) having an infeed point ( ) for an additive ( ) includes a pipe wall ( ) and a static mixing element ( ). The infeed points are provided for introducing the additives into a flowing, low viscosity fluid ( ). The static mixing element consists of a pair of vanes ( ) and of a third vane ( ). The vane pair ( ), which forms a restriction deflecting the flow ( &prime;) of the fluid, is formed with substantially mirror symmetry with respect to a central plane ( ) extending in the direction of the flow. The third vane is arranged in a crossing manner with respect to the vane pair and in a lying manner in the region of the central plane. It has a rear side ( ) with respect to the flow which extends from a base at the pipe wall to a downstream end. Each infeed point is arranged at the rear side of the third vane.

The mixing element ( ) is provided for a flange transition ( ) in a pipeline ( ) and can be mounted between two flanges ( ) of the pipeline. It comprises a mixing-active structure ( ) which is formed by one or two vanes ( ) within a ring ( ). Two mutually inclined planes ( ) can be defined, with the one vane being arranged on the one plane or the two vanes being arranged on the two planes. The two planes intersect at a crossing axis ( ). Closed sub-surfaces ( &prime;) as well as open pieces of surface ( ) of vanes form a surface pattern ( ) which is formed asymmetrically with respect to the crossing axis. Through the asymmetric shape a fluid ( ) which flows through the pipeline can be deflected in such a manner that partial flows ( ) are deflected from one pipe half through sub-surfaces of the one plane ( ) into the other pipe half and encounter there largely non-deflected partial flows, with this also holding vice versa with respect to the other plane ( ) if on the latter there is a second vane ( ) having structure elements.

Mixing element for a flange transition in a pipeline

The apparatus for treating fluids with ultraviolet radiation comprises at least one elongate cylindrical excimer radiator and at least one chamber (2) provided as a through-flow and treatment section for the fluid. The or each radiator has a discharge volume (10) and two electrodes (19, 20) with one of the electrodes (20) being arranged in the chamber (2) provided for the fluid. According to the invention, the electrode (20) in the fluid chamber (2) is formed as a static mixer for the fluid (21) as a so-called static mixer electrode.

Apparatus for treating fluids with ultraviolet radiation

The apparatus comprises a conduit connected to a containment vessel to supply air to a water bath contained in a basin. The conduit is connected to a plurality of air nozzles in the water bath, each of which forms a unit together with a perforate baffle plate disposed above the nozzle to intensively mix the emerging air with water. A set of static mixer elements enclosed by a jacket is disposed in the water bath above the baffle plate.

Apparatus for eliminating aerosols from air from an escaping nuclear

The tubular arm distributor is provided with at least one tubular arm having metering orifices through which a dispersed phase can be metered and a horizontal box-like element which extends over the metering orifices to define a chamber for receiving the dispersed phase. The box-like element has exit orifices in the form of slots along the side walls to distribute the dispersed phase into the continuous phase.

Distributor for a liquid-liquid extraction or reaction column

The mass transfer column through which a continuous phase and at least one dispersed phase flow in countercurrent has two embodiments of packing elements disposed in the mass transfer section of the column. The first embodiment takes the form of corrugated layers which are disposed parallel to the column axis and engage one another, the corrugations of adjacent layers crossing one another. In the second embodiment plane intermediate layers are introduced between adjacent corrugated layers. The elements with intermediate layers provide cross-conveyance of the dispersed phase while the corrugated elements are responsible for mass transfer and for maintaining the dispersion distribution.
