The method for adjusting a natural gas temperature for a fuel supply line of a gas turbine engine includes measuring by infrared analysis the natural gas percentage content of methane (CH4), ethane (C2H6), propane (C3H8), butane (C4H10), carbon dioxide (CO2), calculating the nitrogen (N2) percentage content as the complement to 100 of the measured percentage content of methane (CH4), ethane (C2H6), propane (C3H8), butane (C4H10), carbon dioxide (CO2), calculating an index indicative of the natural gas energy content and adjusting the natural gas temperature on the basis of the index.

Method for adjusting a natural gas temperature for a fuel supply line of a gas turbine engine

A control system is provided for a power generating system having a gas turbine, a flue gas exhaust stage and a blow-off valve assembly. The gas turbine includes a compression stage, a combustion stage and a driveshaft. The blow-off valve assembly is configured to selectively provide fluid communication between the combustion stage and the flue gas exhaust stage. The control system includes a controller configured to output a signal causing the blow-off valve assembly to provide the fluid communication in response to a sudden de-loading of the gas turbine.

Control of load rejection

In a method of operating a gas turbine during shut down, the gas turbine is decelerated and closure of compressor inlet guide vanes () is initiated at a shaft speed at least 5% above the shaft speed where a vibration peak occurs. The compressor inlet guide vanes () are closed by an angle in the range from 15&#xb0;-35&#xb0;, preferably at a rate between 5&#xb0; and 10&#xb0; per second. The method effects a reduction of the risk of rotational stall.

Method of operating a gas turbine power plant

In a guide vane element for a gas turbine with a vane blade extending between a platform that is located radially inward in relation to the main housing of the gas turbine and a radially outward platform, a flange is provided on at least one edge of the platforms adjoining an adjacent second guide vane element in the circumferential direction and on the side of the platform facing away from the vane blade. The second guide vane element can be attached, via a second flange provided on a second platform on the second guide vane element. The connection of the platforms forms a cover band, or a connection between the guide vane elements that is tight, flush, and stress-free at different temperatures. The attachment of two adjoining platforms to each other in the area facing away from the vane blades is a connection that is in flush contact with the adjoining flange of an adjoining platform, while a gap remains between the adjoining platforms in the area facing the vane blade and the operating gases, when the temperature remains evenly distributed and high.

Connecting stator elements

A sealing arrangement has two bodies with two end faces which extend along a longitudinal axis, adjoin one another while forming a gap, the width of which can vary between zero and a maximum width. The gap is covered by a sealing strip which lies transversely to the gap, extends along the longitudinal axis and is mounted with clearance in two opposite grooves of a predetermined depth. In such a sealing arrangement, an increased maximum width of the gap is made possible by the sealing strip having a basic width transversely to the longitudinal axis, this basic width being less than or equal to twice the depth of the grooves, and by the sealing strip is constructed to prevent the sealing strip from slipping out of the grooves if the sum of the maximum width of the gap and the depth of the grooves is greater than or equal to the basic width of the sealing strip.

Sealing arrangement, in particular for the blade segments of gas turbines

A device for setting the gap dimension for a turbomachine, in particular a gas turbine, with heat accumulation segments which are arranged on the guide-vane carrier of the rotor arrangement. At least one drive device projects radially through the turbine casing and the guide-vane carrier and is operatively connected kinematically to at least one heat accumulation segment and which, when actuated, causes a radial spacing of the heat accumulation segment. The heat accumulation segment has, in the flow direction of the turbomachine, a conical contour facing the rotor arrangement and is arranged so as to be displaceable parallel to the flow direction, and in that the drive device is connected to the heat accumulation segment directly or via an eccentric unit, in such a way that, when the drive device is actuated, the heat accumulation segment is displaced, with the result that a radial spacing between the heat accumulation segment and the moving-blade tips can be set.

Device for setting the gap dimension for a turbomachine

A method of fitting an impingement plate to a platform of a guide blade of a gas turbine. The impingement plate is first fastened at individual spots by spot welds to at least one supporting surface of the platform and is then brazed at the supporting surface to the platform. The impingement plate is prefabricated with recesses and the spot welds are executed at the recesses.

The invention relates to a method for producing a cooled cast part for a thermal turbo machine by using a known casting process. Between a wax model of the cast part and a ceramic core, a wax seal is applied by hand above a step, only on an additional shoulder. The material that is created during the casting process at this point by the shoulder and the wax seal can be ground off without causing rough areas on the step to form. This simplifies the welding or soldering of a cooling plate to the step.
