A cleaning device for cleaning an atomizer, in particular a rotary atomizer, is provided. The cleaning device includes a wet cleaning station having at least one cleaning nozzle for the wet cleaning of the atomizer with a cleaning fluid. The atomizer is introduced into the wet cleaning station in an introduction direction. The cleaning nozzle has a rotatable cleaning trunk for dispensing the cleaning fluid. The cleaning device, in some embodiments, also includes a dry cleaning station. A corresponding operating method is also provided.

The exemplary illustrations relate to an atomization system for a rotary atomizer for applying a coating agent, comprising a rotatably supported bell plate for atomizing the coating agent and for dispensing a spray jet of the coating agent, and comprising a guiding air ring for dispensing a first guiding air flow and a second guiding air flow for producing the spray jet dispensed by the bell plate. The two guiding air flows may comprise separate guiding air flow feeds and may further be set independently from each other. An exemplary bell plate and the guiding air ring may be designed such that the atomization system is suitable for coating the inside of chassis parts of motor vehicles and for coating the outside of chassis parts of motor vehicles.

Universal atomizer

A rotary sprayer for a coating apparatus is disclosed. An exemplary rotary sprayer may include a spraying body configured to be mounted on a drive shaft of a drive motor for rotation with the drive shaft. The spraying body may further include a detachable mounting device for coaxial connection of the spraying body to the drive shaft. The detachable mounting device may include a spraying body thread that mates with a driveshaft thread defined by the drive shaft, and a plurality of elastic tabs configured to abut a corresponding cavity defined by the driveshaft, such that rotation of the spraying body increases an abutment force between the elastic tabs and the corresponding cavity of the driveshaft.

A guiding air ring for a rotary atomiser for coating components, such as motor vehicle body parts, is disclosed. The ring generally includes a front side facing a bell plate of the rotary atomiser in the operating state, and at least one guiding air nozzle for outputting a guiding air flow for forming a directed spray emitted from the bell plate. The ring may also include a cavity which is rotationally arranged in the front side of the guiding air ring in an annular manner. A correspondingly adapted bell plate is also disclosed.

A deflecting air ring includes a plurality of deflecting air nozzles for discharging a deflecting air jet onto a spray jet of a vaporizer in order to shape the spray jet. The deflecting air nozzles are configured such that the deflecting air jet is substantially laminar within a first region, while the deflecting air nozzles also generate turbulence in a second region situated downstream of the first region of the deflecting air jet.

A deflecting air ring is disclosed having a plurality of deflecting air nozzles for discharging a deflecting air jet onto a spray jet of a vaporizer in order to shape the spray jet. The deflecting air nozzles are configured such that the deflecting air jet is substantially laminar within a close region, while the deflecting air nozzles also generate turbulence in a remote region situated downstream of the close region of the deflecting air jet.

A rotary atomizer component, such as for a steering air ring or bell cup for a rotary atomizer with at least one steering air jet for delivering steering air (or controlled air) and a rotary bearing shaft where, in axial direction between the bell cup and the steering air jet, a circumferential annular gap is located. A shaft cover in form of a bushing covers the bearing shaft, when mounted, at least partially in the annular gap area between the bell cup and the steering air jet. In addition, the annular gap space between the front surface of the bearing unit and the internal surface facing it axially or any other front element of the atomizer is sealed in a radial way internally against the externally accessible area of the shaft. The sealing element provided for this purpose is located along the internal circumference of the air-steering rings or front element and able to be attached to the front surface of the bearing unit in a way that it is elastically deformable.

The invention relates to an operating method for an atomiser () for the coating of structural components, particularly of vehicle body parts, with the following steps: Application of a spray jet of a coating agent through the atomiser (); discharge of a first guide air flow () for the formation of a spray jet; determination of at least one application parameter (&#x3b7;, &#x3b3;, T, BC/CC, Qvarnish, n, U,) which reproduces a property (&#x3b7;, &#x3b3;, T, BC/CC) of the applied coating agent or an operating variable (Qvarnish, n, U) of the atomiser () as well as influencing of the first guide air flow () as a factor of the application parameter (&#x3b7;, &#x3b3;, T, BC/CC, Qvarnish, n, U,). Within the framework of the invention, there is the alternative option that fluctuations of the application parameters and, based thereon, variations of the spray jet width are taken into account by means of an adaptation of the path spacing (d) between the adjacent coating agent paths for the purpose of keeping the path overlapping constant. Furthermore, the invention comprises a corresponding coating apparatus.
