A partitioning circuit will partition into subintervals the time interval between two signals delivered by a recognition circuit, and will activate a gate circuit during one of these intervals which has been predetermined. In addition to the recognition circuit, the sequence of signals from a sensor responding to the occurrence of an at least approximately periodic event, is fed to a comparator circuit which will transmit a pulse to the gate circuit each time a certain signal level has been exceeded. If the gate is active, this pulse will be available for further processing.

Device for generating an electric trigger pulse

An apparatus is disclosed, for measuring the angular position of a shaft of a machine at the occurrence of an event originating from the operation of the machine, relative to a reference position of the shaft. The apparatus comprises a first sensor responsive to the reference position of the shaft (signal II) and a second sensor which, on the occurrence of the event, produces an output pulse and which produces a number of interference pulses in the periods between production of the output pulses (signal I). A comparator (4) having a threshold value which is capable of being exceeded both by the required pulses and the interference pulses, and a recognition circuit (3,6) which is adapted to recognize output pulses produced on the occurrence of the event, are arranged to control an evaluation circuit such as a counter (10). The evaluation circuit ascertains, e.g. by counting angular increment marker pulses (signal III), the angle through which the shaft rotates between the time when the threshold of the comparator (4) was last exceeded prior to triggering of the recognition circuit by the required event, and the time when the shaft reaches the reference position.

Apparatus for measuring the angular position of a shaft

A device for measuring rotational angles of a rotating shaft of a machine, and comprising transducers signals of which being released by one or several reference angle signs or a machine characteristic phenomenon respectively, and being input to a processing unit. The processing unit comprises a frequency multiplier circuit and a counter the frequency multiplier circuit multiplying the signal of one or several reference angle signs, with the counter counting the multiplied signals and being resettable and startable by either a reference angle signal or the signal released by the machine characteristic phenomenon and being blockable by the respective other signal.
