An antenna includes a first radiating array coupled to the mast and a second radiating array coupled to the mast. Each of the first and second radiating arrays comprises a plurality of dipoles associated with a radiation frequency, each dipole coupled to the mast by a standoff. The two arrays are mounted approximately opposite to each other relative to the mast, rather than one array on top of the other array. The antenna may be part of a Positive Train Control (PTC) system and be disposed in proximity to a train track.

Electrically variable beam tilt antenna

An antenna element for use in an antenna assembly is provided. The antenna element includes a cylindrical tube. The antenna element also includes a plurality of fingers, each finger having a first end that is connected to the cylindrical tube and a second end that is free. Each finger protrudes inward from a wall of the cylindrical tube. The free end of each finger has an aperture configured to allow the finger to be soldered to a pipe disposed through a generally circular opening. An antenna assembly having at least one antenna element is also provided.

Omnidirectional antenna radiation element

There is provided a cellular antenna allowing mechanical azimuth adjustment in combination with adjustment of one or more other antenna attribute such as electrical down tilt, electrical beam width or electrical azimuth adjustment. An integrated control arrangement is provided which can utilise either serial, wireless or RF feed lines to convey communications. A multiband embodiment provides azimuth adjustment for both bands by utilising mechanical and electrical azimuth adjustment. In one form of the invention, a resonant cavity filter (50) is disclosed, comprising an input port (210) for receiving an input signal, a dielectric resonator (204) in a cavity, the dielectric resonator operable to receive an input signal from the input port and further operable to produce an output signal at a resonant frequency of the cavity, an output port (212) operable to receive the output signal and a tuning plate (308) disposed in the cavity, the tuning plate coupled to a control means operable to cause movement of the tuning plate, thereby changing dimensions of the cavity, the control means operable to determine a frequency of the input signal, retrieve an expected tuning plate position from a memory (514) based on the frequency, and move the tuning plate to the expected position. Other systems, devices and methods are disclosed.

Self-tuning resonant cavity filter

An antenna assembly having an operating frequency and a vertical radiation pattern with a main lobe axis defining a downtilt angle with respect to the earth's surface. An antenna assembly having a base plate and at least one integrally formed antenna array mounted thereon, the antenna array having a pair of dipole antennas and an elongated transmission line, one of the dipole antennas being integrally formed with each end of the transmission line, with each dipole antenna comprising a pair of oppositely directed, elongated dipole arms, one of the arms being continuous in a direction transverse to its length in plan view and the other of the arms comprising a pair of spaced apart arm elements in a direction transverse to its length in plan view, and for each of the dipole antennas, mounting means integrally formed with each of the pair of dipole arms for securing the antenna array to the antenna assembly. A method of forming the antenna from a blank and by a series of folding steps is also disclosed.

Antenna assembly

A horizontally polarized antenna array having extended E-plane beam width, and a method for accomplishing beam width extension. In one embodiment of the invention, an antenna array is provided that comprises a driven dipole element mounted to a conductive means forming a ground plane, the driven dipole element having opposing arms, and a pair of collinear parasitic dipole elements disposed on opposite sides of the driven dipole element, the parasitic dipole elements having opposing arms inclined toward the ground plane such that the opposing arms of each parasitic dipole element are perpendicular to one another.

A microstrip patch antenna array incorporating a plurality of spaced-apart patch radiating elements electromagnetically coupled to a microstrip line conductively coupled to a source of signals. Both the spaced-apart patch radiating elements and the microstrip line are located on the same side of an adjacent conductive substrate. The microstrip patch radiating elements are arranged in a linear co-planar array electromagnetically excited by the field created by the air substrated microstrip line passing adjacent thereto.

An electronic communication system monitor in one embodiment has sensors for sensing electrical and environmental conditions for communication system elements. Control relays connect the elements to a programmable controller. The programmable controller has a keyboard, display, printer and modem for remote communication of information; especially alarms providing notice of operating conditions outside acceptable parameters. A second embodiment provides a logic circuit connected to selected sensors which determines when a combination of conditions exist to cause alarm and automatically activates a remedial device to alleviate a potential problem. The central processor also has: a message synthesizer and a connector for communicating a message using dual-tone multifunction coded signals or digitized voice signals to maintenance, emergency and security personnel or remote computers as appropriate; a memory for accumulating information and report preparation instructions for preparing reports of current alarms, alarm history, current status, relay status, channel monitor, and channel on time reports; and instructions for set-up. Manual or automatic operation is provided.
